Wake Forest took down No. 14 Duke at home, 81-70, to earn their first conference win and Steve Forbes’ first win over a top 25 team at Wake. All five Demon Deacons starters found themselves with double figures, led by Tyree Appleby’s 18–a full 13 of which came at the free throw line. He also had 8 assists. Cameron Hildreth had 16 points and 9 rebounds as he led the Deacs on the glass. Damari Monsanto had 9 of his 13 points come from beyond the arc, and Matthew Marsh and Andrew Carr had 10 points apiece. For Duke, who was without Dariq Whitehead and Dereck Lively, Jaylen Blakes came off the bench and put up a 17 point effort with 3 steals to lead the Blue Devils.

  1. Massive win for the Deacs and a rare win indeed over Duke. This team is tournament caliber if only they can become more consistent and turn the ball over less. Love the balanced offense facilitated by Appleby 💪

  2. !2 healthy good players will beat 6-7 healthy good players. 6-7 healthy good players will not beat 10 healthy good players. Now 6-7 healthy BETTER players will beat 10-12 healthy GOOD players. Why isn't Scheyer using his other big men???!!!

  3. Basketball is truly a game of statistics—look at the shooting percentages, where did the rebounding % of the best rebounding team go???
Use ALL your healthy capable players coach. Dean Smith used to do that successfully.

  4. Down goes dook, down goes dook.. 💙UNC Starheels 🏆🏀👑👍 Final 4 champions 🏆

  5. Can’t wait till we play Duke, I’ll be going to that game! See y’all Feb 6 dukies!!! 🙌🏾 🙌🏾 🙌🏾

  6. What’s the point of having all of this talent if they’re just sitting on the bench….. Scheyer’s rotations aren’t making any sense

  7. What a joke that this isn't even mentioned on cbs sports web site…Congrats to Wake on a great win!

  8. Great game! The condensed version is terrific if live feed is not available. Love it. Thanks. D.S.Owen
