  1. To me it’s a youth/bench depth issue.. the team plays nervous when it’s close late.. it’s close late because the bench turns a 13 point lead into a 5 point late

  2. Masterclass tank by Rick? No way they can’t be that bad in crunch time both games.

  3. This team needs someone to step up and be the team leader in the clutch. We also need a tough inside presence. Going into Boston next?

  4. Carlisle is the master of panic with his incessant anxiety ridden timeouts down the stretch. The team takes on the personality of its coach.
I like Carlisle as a person but come on last year Pacers set A NBA Record for losses by 5 points or less. They gut the entire roster who were all NBA veterans that are getting 25-30 minutes on playoff teams this year and Sabonis once again will be an all star, and literally this roster has the exact same issues. We can still scapegoat Myles I guess Carlisle. What's with the five straight 26 feet 3 pointers down the stretch? That's the best you can do Carlisle? There is only one steph curry in NBA history and klay is the 2nd best shooter in NBA history. We're not the Golden state warriors. Tyrese looks unstoppable when he drives to the basket. Why he doesn't do it down the stretch when the game Is close or even more baffling why Carlisle doesn't tell him to do it Is mind boggling. I feel sorry for Buddy because he wants to be here and because Sacramento booed him but Buddy Hield isn't an nba starter and he's literally about the last person I want with the ball when the Pacers are down by a point or two. Buddy is a bench player. Ruined Nesmiths great game.
And this team needs to quit acting like it's round one in the ncaa tournament pulling off a major upset when they do hit a game winner. Man act like you've been there or that this is what is expected. Makes me think they don't believe they can win deep down. Tyrese isn't a closer. Not sure if he's a clutch player down the stretch. I almost feel like a couple starters don't want mathurin to close the game and get the shine from the fans and media. I honestly do think that. Tyrese needs to watch more Magic Johnson tape and realize that a great Stat line doesn't really mean anything if you lose the game. Your great. Make the right decision and get the ball In mathurin's hands down the stretch and live with the result. Mathurin was cold tonight I'll admit but he was 7/7 from the line. If it's that important that your the star of every game Tyrese then drive to the God damn basket instead of shooting step back 3 pointers ESPECIALLY when the entire team wasn't hitting any of them the last 5 minutes. I'm not letting this team ruin My damn night anymore. I'm about to check out like I did last year.
If I hear one more damn person bring up the championship that Carlisle won with Dallas 11 years ago to justify why he's the right coach for this team I think I'm going to have a stroke. Tony did a video last year that proved dallas were losing these same type close games for years with Carlisle coaching. They haven't made it out the 1st rd since that championship until last year when kidd was hired. Nate took the exact same injury decimated team to the playin and even won the game in a 30 point blowout in Charlotte. Pacers were considerably worse last year and Dallas makes it to the western conference finals with first year coach Jason kidd. I'm just stating the facts man and they don't look good for Carlisle supporters.

  5. I was never a big fan of having pressure being put on him to score more. There are times he takes bad shots because I feel like he feels pressured to score more. Let the game Come to him. I was never a big fan of forcing him to shoot more. Let him be who he is. I'd rather see Tyrese put on 20lbs of muscle and drive to the basket at least twice as much as he does now. Drive to the basket when the game Is close with two minutes to go.
Players like Donovan Mitchell are worth all those 1st rd draft picks. Having a closer like Reggie Miller or Donovan Mitchell or Michael Jordan is the huge huge huge difference between good and great. Lots of nba players can make shots during the game. Can they make them with 2 minutes on the clock with the game tied? Very few can. This is the beginning of the end unless stuck in his ways stubborn Carlisle makes adjustments with players minutes which he for sure won't no matter what happens during the games. Give him credit for starting Mathurin only because I think Jalen plays better off the bench. Jalen looked great in the 3rd quarter of Cleveland game then basically sat the entire 4th quarter. Buddy hield has never been on a winning team his entire career Let alone make playoffs. He's not a winning basketball player. It's almost like he's a damn jinx. I think there is a spot for Buddy but not as a starter and definitely not a closer. Myles has never been out the 1st rd in his career and hasn't made it to the playoffs since 2018. Myles is playing great this year even though today was a bad one but these guys aren't teaching the young players how to win. They've never won. They need to get traded to a championship team for they can get experience. You can't teach what you don't have. These young players know theyvd never done anything on the nba. It's whatever. I'm done ranting

  6. I do think Duarte has the clutch gene. Regardless Carlisle every practice needs to start simulating crunch time in practice and come up with better solutions then chucking up 26 ft 3 pointers every possesion. Those are low percentage shots. Give the ball to someone on the post. They make it way more difficult then it needs to be. At this point Carlisle needs to start telling a specific player to take the shot. There are some mental dynamics going on with this team similar to last year as far as leadership. This team doesn't know how to win and Carlisle is the master of panic.

Hire Mark Jackson or give Lloyd a shot. Move Carlisle to front office. I've loved the way this team has played this year with Lloyd coaching. Lloyd seems more ready then he was with Atlanta. Way more ready.

  7. Rick the master of panic Carlisle. So much easier in 2003-2004 wasn't it Rick when you had Reggie miller to bail you out. The team got progressively worse each year after Reggie retired then missed the playoffs entirely and he got fired by the way.

  8. Well, for starters dont let Tyrese be a clutch shooter. Far from the first time he fumbles that kind of moment.

  9. It's Carlisle. He's like Matt Ryan in the sense tht he's not viable & the game has passed him by. He's cost the team several wins. He's just a bad, awful coach. Why we have to sit here & pretend he's some master is beyond me. NO, he's Matt Ryan. Mathurin is the team's best scorer period. Any other coach would be starting him. The ball needs to be in his hands in the clutch. He also needs all of his minutes to be w/ Hali not TJMC.

  10. I've been watching them since the Lakers game. I noticed that they take too many 3s, They pass the ball too much, They play scared in the fourth quarter, they can't rebound or have hustle plays and they barely drive to the basket. T. Haliburton always looking to pass first rather then trying to balance his game. The defense knows he's looking to pass first. Smh. They need a true star player and probably a new coach.

  11. Turners back to Turner ball. Shows up in 1 of 5 games. It's interesting that he was playing consistently, the best of his career, then he gets a new agent. Every since then, he's taken his foot off the gas. Rick said something very interesting to me after the Cavs game, "it's a season to find out who were committed to and who WHOs COMMITTED TO US". That screamed Turner to me. They need to trade him soon and let the elephant out of the room.

  12. Another thing they missed with Duarte is his mid range shot creation because it’s times when buddy or whoever is jacking up threes missing and momentum shifts I hope he gets into rhythm and gets a chance to start again, personally would like to see Tyrese ,Mathurin and Duarte in the a lineup together in games to test it out also Turner in this game and past others reminded me of the old Turner jacking up thread with Sabonis in the paint and not the Turner who talked about more opportunity and having a career high in stats season at the moment hopefully he turns it around but partially it’s not all on him they have to make plays to get him the ball when considering when he is scoring and being aggressive we win more so than not

  13. It's always frustrating to see your team play with a lead the entire game at home and lose in the final minutes. It's like getting on the 8 ball after a good run and then scratching. But I think these youngsters will learn from these type of losses.

  14. Nembhard isn’t a two guard he’s a point guard. Buddy should not be our staring 3 & Mathurin is too good to come off of the bench

  15. Give Nembhard TJ minutes and keep TJ on the bench, this is just ridiculous. Put Ben in the starting line up and we need a good shooter to play with the 2nd unit. And what do Rick even be telling them in time outs? Just bad coaching on his part and unacceptable that Myles missed 4 free throws

  16. Ben is the closer but Rick thinks he knows everything, with him being a former player, he should know that being a bench or a starter matters from a mental stand point. Doesn’t matter if he is playing starter minutes, it’s a mental thing no one want to be labeled a bench player especially a player that knows he is the best player on the team, then they put a 2nd rounder in the 1st unit over him. You don’t that players look at that?? SMH 🤦🏾‍♂️
