He’s always been streaky but i enjoyed the edge he played with last year. I just dont know if he’s a reliable enough shooter

I like Gary but he requires usage we don’t have and between him and everyone else, he is the odd man out imo.
Not as good a shooter or playmaker as Fred and not as good a defender or versatile as the OG, Pascal and Scottie.

I like him but the roster just needs to be better. At certain points you have to focus your resource allocation, due to the salary cap, he’s just in a position where they won’t be able to keep him primarily for thst reason alone

Yes. He’s opting out of his $18m season 3 contract. Do you want to pay GTJ $22m a season to come off the bench and hit a couple 3’s sometimes when hes on a streak and provide not much else, or do you want to spend that $22m elsewhere like the rest of us?

I’m indifferent. I wouldn’t mind GTJ sticking around but, I think he wants to be a starter and his consistency isn’t good enough to justify it.
That said I’d rather keep him over paying fred 20+m a year.

I’d like to keep Gary I think when he gets in rhythm he’s a big asset. Not sure how to get that to happen more frequently. I don’t remember if he usually starts a season a bit slow??

I like GTJ when he’s on fire… he got that ice in his veins but he is so streaky. I would like to keep him but if we can consolidate him with another player for a starting SG like Lavine, I would do it.

Hell I’m not even a Raptors fan and I don’t even want to keep him for you guys! Ever since “Bubble GTJ” he’s thought of himself as an elite shooter.. he thinks he’s worth Herro/Poole money but nowhere near as good!
