.SACRAMENTO, Calif. β€”β€Œ Kevin Huerter led four players with 20 or more points in the Sacramento Kings 134-120 defeat over the visiting Los Angeles Lakers on Dec. 21 at Golden 1 Center. πŸŽ™

Huerter finished with 26 points, five rebounds, and three steals for the Kings (17-13), who bounced back after losing to the Charlotte Hornets in their first of six games at Golden 1 Center. πŸŽ™

β€œWe’re not going to overreact over one game. We watched film yesterday, had a really good film session, and went over some things. Made a lot of mistakes in that game,” Huerter said. β€œReally didn’t deserve to win, so we gotta put that behind us. This was obviously a team that had been playing well, I know they have a lot of guys out, especially on our home court. I thought, for the most part, we did a good job.”

Domantas Sabonis recorded another triple-double with 13 points, 21 rebounds, and 12 assists for the Kings. πŸŽ™

Sabonis also finished with 10 rebounds in the first quarter tonight against the Lakers. Sabonis is the first player this season with 10 boards in the opening quarter of a game and the first since Andre Drummond on Mar. 16, 2022, vs. the Dallas Mavericks. πŸŽ™

β€œHe’s relentless. I remember playing against him in the past and he’s not a guy that people look forward to going up against just physicality,” Huerter said of Sabonis. β€œHe’s relentless, as someone coming after you all game, and his numbers speak for himself.”

Rookie Keegan Murray added 23 points, three rebounds, and made six of 12 shots in 3-point land while DeAaron Fox had 22 points, 4 rebounds, and six assists in 30 minutes. Harrison Barnes scored 20 points and pulled down eight boards. πŸŽ™

Murray has now made five-plus three-pointers in three games this season. He is tied for the second-most games with five-plus three-pointers made by a rookie in franchise history. πŸŽ™

The Lakers (13-18) were led by LeBron James who had a game-high 31 points, six rebounds, 11 assists, and three blocked shots. Los Angeles was without the service of Anthony Davis and Russell Westbrook. The two All-Stars sat out the game due to soreness in the foot. πŸŽ™

Lonnie Walker had 19 points, five rebounds, and two steals while Dennis Schroder contributed 18 points for the Lakers, and Thomas Bryant had 17 points, 10 rebounds, and four assists.

James said the Lakers played halfway decent but not enough to beat the hot-shooting Kings. Sacramento made 48 of 95 shots from the field, 17 of 47 beyond the arc, and 21 of 28 at the free throw line in a game that had 15 lead changes.πŸŽ™

β€œWhen your number is called you just have to go out there and do your job and do it to the best of your ability,” James said. β€œ Each individual can do it. Let the chips fall where they may. Do it as a collective group. Obviously, we had a lot of guys out. Anthony Davis, Russell Westbrook, Austin Reaves. A lot of our big minute guys. I thought the guys stepped up, but we just didn’t have enough.” πŸŽ™

The Kings recorded their six-game of the season leading by as much as 20 or more points. Neemias Queta made all of his five shots from the floor and finished with 10 points, three rebounds, and two Alley Oop dunks. πŸŽ™

β€œI think today, especially, we just played desperate and I feel like our starting five did that really well,” Murray said. β€œ(We) shared the ball a lot and just tried to get each other involved. We’re all confident. We’re a confident group.”

The Los Angeles Lakers own the all-time series against the Kings, 280-163. πŸŽ™
