That’s what happens when 90% of your roster is 3 pt dependent. Wood is the only guy who’s game doesn’t entirely rely on 3s, same with Dinwiddie to a degree. Need more guys that can drive and slash and properly apply rim pressure.
Dinwiddie is shooting like fire this season but he’s not really driving, at least compared to last season. He still is good when he drives and draws fouls, but both the drives and drawing foul rate is less this year.
His shooting splits are great. Might sound crazy (maybe not?) but I’d look to flip him more than Wood tbh for a LaVine/OG package if it even is available. Probably not gonna be available though considering we can’t trade our near FRPs until 2023 conveys. Dinwiddie another player turning 30 next year.
Think Nico/Cuban should focus now on getting a Turner/Poetl/rim protector and a Reddish/Rui/young wing. Both those profiles should be attainable for a lower price. Not entirely sure what we’d have to give up. Keep the ammo for the big guns.
You’d have a younger, more defensive and versatile team around 77.

Starters other the Luka combined for 25% from the field. When Pinson/Wright and Ntilikina can provide the same level of offensive production to the starters, that is a problem.

This season it just feels like the offense is out of rhythm. We’ve had a few games where everything is clicking and we look like an elite team. But more often than not it feels like they’re struggling for a decent shot, or Luka is out there carrying the entire offense. No in between…

Every time Mavs Social Media creates a post celebrating that Luka posted another insane stat line, I cringe so hard because it means Luka was the only thing dragging the Mavs forward yet again.
