Kuzma. Jumped to the defense of Scottie yesterday on social media. 20ppg scorer, shot creator, decent shooter, 6’9”, solid defender. I’d imagine he’s someone Masai has his eye on. What are your thoughts on going after him/what would it take to get him?

In his final year in Los Angeles Kuzma did not look good off the bench

For us to capitalize on his talent we would either have to push one of Scottie or OG to the bench or have a FVV-Kuzma-Scottie-OG- Kuzma lineup

Don’t know how it work scheme and fit wise

He also came to the defense of Kyrie when he promoted an antisemitic film so he’s not exactly the most admirable person in the NBA in terms of their character.

In any case, the comments made about his reason for wanting to leave Washington (too small a market, wants lots of opportunities), coupled with him essentially being a UFA since he’s going to expire makes me wary of him re-signing in the offseason. Even to this day, Toronto has this stigma about it in the NBA as “there’s nothing to do here”. That and how he acted back in L.A.

If we’re trading with the Wizards (they’ve been one of the teams mentioned to be interested in Fred and Gary), i’d be looking at Gafford, Kispert, Rui as options for bench depth (not necessarily all together of course) or, in Gafford’s case, a potential starter-level center. He’s one of those guys the advanced stats love.

Really sucks Washington has locked up their draft capital until 2025 at the earliest (2027 at the latest) but I digress.

Kuzma would be great acquisition for the Raptors. He fits Vision 6’9” ,good scorer and is actually a decent defender. It’s depends on the price. Prob GT2 and a 1st rd pick. A starting lineup of Spicy, OG, Scottie Arms, Kuz and FVV. Maybe his offense will help our scoring droughts in Q3.

  4. I certainly would not call him a solid defender. He’s below average there.

Idk why people are still obsessed with adding more 6’9” guys who aren’t great shooters. We have enough. It’s like you guys don’t care about fit or spacing or defense at all.
