I was super hyped off Clax’s performance tonight. Dude just totally cleaned up on both ends of the floor. After spending the remainder of my evening diving through highlights and stats, is there a case for Clax to stretch the floor a bit? I found a clip of him hitting a very clean open 3 a few years ago, and while my knowledge of things on this level is shaky, his release looks good here. Upon further research, I learned he shot .364 and .281, respectively, in his two years at Georgia. Now, hovering around the low 30s is not very impressive, and in college ball is probably average or slightly below average. If you’re like me you’ve spent the season on the trade machine trying to find a stretch-5 trade that works. Could Clax become that guy? For reference, in 2021-22, Giannis shot the 3-ball at .293. If Claxton could get to around that percentage, suddenly the other team thinks twice about leaving him open on the perimeter.
I’m no expert, so please don’t flame me, but I’m curious what the Nets community thinks about this possibility.

When we drafted him he was billed as a Chris Bosh clone because he used to play a lot more on the perimeter, so I think it should be possible.
They should unleash him. He’s got potential to be a top 15 player in the NBA someday.
