How did these Brits become Kentucky basketball & football fans? | #kentuckywildcats

One of the best parts about going to England for a Kentucky basketball game was getting to meet several members of the Big Blue Nation who are diehard Wildcat fans but have never even been to the United States. Such is the case with this 32 year old fan from Derby County in England. His dad visited Lexington for a business trip in 2005 and bought his son a Kentucky hat.

Now, not only does he cheer on the Cats in basketball but he is well versed in Kentucky football as well.

  1. Dude deserves to see a game or 2 at Rupp. BBN needs to establish a fund specifically to bring a legit UK fan (and guest) in from another country once a year. Airfare, hotel, tickets (and a recorded interview, etc.) BBN complete world-takeover begins…..

  2. I had a job 10 years ago where I did door to door sales. And I went to 34 states, and every SEC campus, big 12 campus, and some ACC campuses. Met alot of people from Florida to west Texas to South Dakota to every southern state and Midwest states. Had a couple guys on crew who were from California and Washington, and Utah. All were Kentucky fans. And this was in 2008. I met this guy in Texas that answered the door wearing a Kentucky shirt and hat, and I said what do you know about Kentucky?? Hence I was born in Lexington and live here now, and he said, who doesn't know about Kentucky basketball??? The 90s was UK killing it in college basketball. "WHO'S IN THE HOUSE TONIGHT?, UK" WOOT WOOT!! lol literally why they call the fan base BBN. LOVE Kentucky man, and I'll always bleed blue.

  3. This is awesome!!! Come on Cal get this team going man and go get a big win at Missouri in a few days. GO CATS!!!! 🙏✌️🇺🇸
