Lebron is 38 he expends all energy on offensive end and is a liability on the defensive end. Games are won by playing defense. They feed off of their leader’s energy.
Skips Point about defense is ridiculous. The Mavs got shots this open because the lakers aggressively doubled Luka every posession because they simply have no other way of dealing with him, not because of a lack of effort. If the Lakers apply their normal defensive shemes, Luka finishes the night with 60+. It worked well the first half because the Mavs missed everything, but as soon as the mavs shoot a regular percentage like in the second half it is over. I am not quite sure i have ever seen somebody beeing double teamed as often as Luka in this game , it was literally every posession and i have a hard time understanding why teams continue to do this. If you defend Luka like this, he picks you apart and the mavs are one of the best teams in the league, luka said many times himself how much easier it is to win games if he gets constantely doubled. The best way of dealing with Luka is to put a tall agile defender on him and avoid switching, everything else is nonsense.

For those who use Jordan’s failure to get out of the first round of the playoffs against him in the goat debate, I hope you realize Lebron is about to do the same thing. And he has a play in tournament to help. So when Lebron either fails to make the playoffs this year or lose in the first round are you ready to be fair and hold that against him the same way it is held against Jordan? I doubt it.
