Joe Mazzulla should get a lot more credit if the Celtics make it to the Finals and actually win it all. That's my take on this podcast. Brad Stevens should be the EOTY.
i think the purpose of the timeouts is:
1. get the guys a breather
2. stop the momentum of the opposing team
3. to get a needed sub in/calm down any emotions
this is why mazzula needs to call more timeouts.
what mazzula is talking about is just about atos/reorganizing the team. i consider those not as primary reasons to call timeouots. the above 3 are.

In all seriousness, I like the Timelord on the bench being used selectively. When the momentum is starting to go against us that's exactly when you want to bring Rob in. I can imagine being the opposition starting to feel confident and starting to ride some momentum, then next second buzzer goes off and Timelord is injected killing thier confidence… that's what you call a momentum killer ( in a good way )
Thanks John & Tom. Stevens deserves a ton of credit. Most of all for stepping aside from coaching into a role where he can better use his overall basketball knowledge. A lot of guys wouldn’t have been able to put their pride aside like that. I have a ton of respect for him due to that alone. It’s a mystery that still hasn’t been solved: why do so few NCAA coaches succeed in the NBA? Pitino (🤮) Calipari, Donovan and the list goes on.
