Trading John Collins for an old ass Jae Crowder who has maybe one more decent season in him _plus_ giving up picks in the deal is certainly a trade.

As a Wizards fan, replace us (Kuz to suns and Delon to Hawks) with the Jazz in this deal and we’ll gladly take you up on the offer, won’t even ask for draft compensation. Surprised the Hawks didn’t want a pick from the suns or something.
By no means do I think that Atlanta should have done it, but this is consistent with what Utah was asking for with Vanderbilt from the summer. They wanted FRPs from Phoenix but Phoenix didn’t want to do it, so now PHX has looped in Atlanta hoping they would do it for them.

Good. Unless the jazz get a fair number of picks why would they do this deal? Beasley is a good player. The rest of the league clearly doesn’t value Collins very highly so the picks would likely be the biggest reason to do this deal for Utah.

Both Beasley and Vandy are worth protected first rounds Pics IMO, and I’d rather have both of the them than John Collins, not sure what the Jazz and Hawks expect.

Why would the Hawks rather have Crowder than Vanderbilt? Vanderbilt is a better defender at this point, and much younger. Cut the Suns out.

Shame this didn’t work though, depending on the “players” involved with Jae. Beasley could have helped a lot with our bench shooting and goddamn do we need someone who can rebound well like Vanderbilt.
