This was just a giant steaming pile of shit performance all around. Can blame refs, can blame rotations, can blame free throws, our defense. Literally the only bright spot was WCJ looked great in his minutes.

Onto the next one, see you guys tomorrow night.

  2. Freudian-Fall

Tonight was one of maybe three bad performances from Paolo. Hopefully he learned his lesson from tonight.

Nobody else has an excuse for playing this badly. Can’t even blame coach, our roster just looked hung over and sad the whole game.

Worst loss of the season. Complete and total waste of my time. Shoutout to WCJ and Fultz for the occasional interest

  3. TomNooksBottomBitch

I’m going to go ahead and erase that from my memory forever

  4. NikThaGreat9

Terrible effort minus Fultz + WCJ. I’m with yoeyz. Fake season until Dell is starting.

  5. Mstargicbball

    Lakers played a great game.
We can’t blame the refs for this one. The Magic were off tonight that’s it.

  6. 0rlando_95

No excuses for the teams performance tonight. Paolo didn’t show up. We didn’t play any defense. That’s gunna be a recipe for an L unfortunately

  7. ivebeenhumble

Honestly despite the drinking this game was an anomaly even of our worst performances.

However the reffing was ridiculously one sided when both teams were trying to be physical.

Paolo gotta bounce back and Franz gotta draw that fire his brother plays with when his shot isn’t falling.

Disappointed in Bamba, Cole, Harris, and Moe tonight

  8. 321mafia

Why would you mess with the rotation when you’ve won 8/9?

  9. bllr32423

Off nights like this happen to every team once in a while. Nothing to overreact to, it just sucks it happened against the Lakers. Expecting a dominating performance against the Pistons tmrw

  10. WiseWOOKIEE

Lack of effort on both ends, nearly no motion on offense most the night, lack of effort on the glass and atrocious night from the line not gonna get it done. Hopefully Detroit is a palate cleanser tomorrow

  11. Didn’t like seeing Paolo get upset after Mo’s dunk bc he wanted the ball.

  12. CodyCode-

Just wasn’t our night tonight. Early foul trouble, shots kept rimming out, loose balls kept bouncing straight to LA. Doesn’t excuse the trash defense though, you could definitely see the effect of that Christmas break. Didn’t seem engaged at all.

  13. Niceshotpiccolo

When Anthony isn’t working you have to bench him man. If all he’s gonna provide is scoring and is having an off night have to pull the plug quick. It just destroys the flow for the rest of the guys.

  14. ricksenberg

Gonna say what I said in the game thread.

We’re still young and inconsistent. 8-1 record be damned.

No defensive effort or intensity and we settled way too much for jumpers instead of going into the paint.

Pretty much everyone who put on a Magic uni stunk it up save for like two or three dudes.

  15. weliketohavefun

That’s the Magic I know and fucking hate.
Inexcusable to drop this game to such a bad team.
Pathetic game all around. ‘Best refs’ in world with another awful display.

  16. banchero98

I hope this was last game of Mo Bamba with Magic jersey. Give wendell 35 minutes and moe 13 minutes. Thats enough for center rotation.

  17. mattj1621

We just played bad and they played good. And damn Mo Bamba sucks

  18. Can’t do much if Markelle, Gary, Terrence, and Wendell are the only players that show up and only Markelle and Gary are playing defense. Paolo needs to stop settling for jump shots and Bol needs to put his damn hand up to contest.

Even championship teams have losses like this. But these boys need to learn.

  19. codymacc8

I’m just gonna assume Paolo was starstruck when he saw his LeChildhood Hero and that’s why we did bad

  20. lil_thirdy

Like I said in the game thread, we’ve been playing terrible defense for the past couple of games now and we finally got punished for it

  21. calimagic805

As a magic fan in Cali I want to cry. Worst game of the season. We needed to be humbled after being 8-2 the last 10. Onto the next one. Need to clap the pistons tomorrow.

  22. OutrageousSoftware24

Not everyone has to get minutes yknow, what are these rotations?

  23. KillerPussyToo

Ok, so what rotations did y’all want considering that Paolo and Moe had to be benched very early because of early foul trouble? 🤔

  24. While I get that they’re prioritizing protecting the paint against the Lakers, at least get a hand up & hustle to close out. Can’t let any team just have practice shots from three.
Free-throw shooting seems to have fallen off lately too.

A rare bad game for Paolo. Nice showing for Wendell & Fultz. Still feels like Franz ain’t getting enough opportunities out there.

  25. ivebeenhumble

I think we all can agree Paolo next year has to develop a decent post game to slow down.

Lebron had a masterclass on what to do when your shot isn’t falling

  26. SonicNarcotic

Felt like a Vooch era game (slow grinding hopelessness).. Kept gettin’ hit with haymakers from an average team and all we could offer were occasional jabs…

Young teams gotta take their lumps, but pretty disappointing loss when you consider how easy this could’ve been if we just played like we’ve become accustomed to…

Revenge game’s in March, till then, on to the next one..!

  27. HeadlessShinobi

19 point loss to the sorry ass Lakers.

  28. Ghostofz10

I miss watching Franz with the bench in second and fourth qaurters. It adds more to our offense when he’s on the floor with them. Like attacking the basket which the magic seemingly forgot you could do. The magic learned something from this and will hopefully apply to the next game.

  29. mightymouthcrv

From January 5 – February 3, this is our schedule: Mem, GS, Sac, Por, Utah, Denver, New Orleans, Washington, Boston, Indiana, Miami, Chicago, Philly twice….Call, me skeptical, but I just don’t see this team competing for/ making the play-in. We’ll win about 30 games and finish in about 7th place. Not sure lottery luck will strike two years in a row. Hopefully, we’ll spend our money wisely in Free Agency and/or a Star becomes available we can trade for since we do have a lot of promising assets.

  30. They didn’t seem to come out all too motivated to win this game. Poor effort from the start and didn’t seem to change much as the game went on. Tough to be a good team if you’re collectively taking nights off

  31. Remarkable_Chest_831

What I don’t get is the low amount if shots from Franz, why not take 20?. Paolo was struck by LeBron. Understandable for a 20 years old , still not good and this is whate coaching probably failed.
And why Cole keeps playing when offensive cold is beyond me. He’s a a surprise each night, either an absolute spark or a big fail.
We should have hussled the old man (M.Wagner)
We did what we usually did in losses – we didn’t play our strengths. But Kudos to LA, they probably had their best game in weeks. Westbrook for example. Ouch .

  32. PleiadesDust

I was at the game and one positive thing I can say is fan support is the best it’s been since probably Dwight era. Tons of Paolo and Franz jerseys, really vocal fans, lots of kids who are probably just now getting into ball wearing magic stuff, and not nearly as many lakers fans as I expected. Pretty standard amount for a Laker/LeBron team away game.

  33. escapedhousefly

Horrible effort. Oh well! At least it’s hard to lose tomorrow against the tanking Pistons

  34. NoRaccoon8090

There is no way we should have let LA get away with putting 6’2 170lbs Beverley on 6’10 250lbs Paolo the entire game. The offense should have been Paolo iso’d down on the block against Beverley from the jump until they switched.

  35. GreatWhiteNurse

Paolo sulking cause he played like shit in front of his idol isn’t a good look. Feel like I can’t remember the last time he has really looked good out there.
