Great clip from Draymond. It’s part of what makes team sports so interesting. Schemes are great, but they can’t be rigid. Flexibility is required for players strengths and weaknesses. And that can only be figured out with time/reps so players can see it in front of them. How to play with each other.
Love hearing about Looneys mentality. I remember reading an article regarding Dray and Loon – how their chemistry has developed so much. They both have this trust and natural feel in each others movement at this point. It’s a testament to Looney who was drafted much later but has really established himself in the team chemistry and identity. It’s easy to see how Looney makes his role fit with anyone on the court. Especially defensively. He just learns how to change his coverage based on someone else’s play style. Unlocking JK in the team scheme will be huge.

You can totally tell who’s a youngin and an OG in the league just by looking at their locker lmao

They’re doing postgame interviews in the locker room now?

Can anyone think of someone that Draymond has praised that much defensively?

Love it. Dray sounds genuinely elated about Kuminga’s progress and not in the “I’m happy for him” pat on the back type of way. More like “This guy has impact that is becoming essential if we’re going to compete for a championship”.

Thanks for posting this. Listening to Draymond in this interview reminded me that he is fantastic to listen to when talking about the game of Basketball! He often has takes/insights that I don’t hear elsewhere, with the point about the team concept adapting to greatness being a great example. I used to love that part of his pod.
