Jaylen Brown (on him and Tatum)
“I think we’ve gotten better with experience. I think Jayson is playing at an all-time best level for him. We’re just coming out and playing and being aggressive. I think that’s the key to it. Our offense and teammates allows it with spacing the floor. Guys who don’t get credit like Malcolm (Brogdon), D-White, Sam Hauser, Al Horford, Grant Williams, great floor spacers. It allows us to be able to play — we don’t really see a lot of double teams. I think maybe one or two teams have doubled one of us all year. When you get to play with that freedom, you get out there and just make plays.”

Heavy.com’s Steve Bulpett (on Payton Pritchard trade rumors):
“Not surprisingly, Pritchard’s new situation has other teams sniffing around. Clubs have been investigating whether he might be worth pursuing in a trade (he makes $2.2 million this year and $4.0 million next). You’ve got to wonder about him defensively at that size (listed at 6-1), but he plays hard, he can really push the ball and he’s got a nice stroke from 3,” said one personnel man. “I like what I see, but it’s hard to say for sure if he could do more with a better opportunity. And first you have to ask if he’s better than what you have and if he’ll even get more of a look with your team.”

  1. Trae Young is a Payton Pritchard who gets actual minutes. Let PP shoot 30 times a game and waste zero energy on defense and you get Trae Young but with better hair.

  2. Teams don't win rings with tiny super undersized guards. (don't bring up Curry, he's 6'3 and dwarfs Trae)

  3. Pass. It's not that I don't think Trae is a great player, but I don't think he fits this team. Boston is built with two way players. They have a good defense because their is no individual weakness an opponent can exploit. They'd have to hide Trea. Additionally, one of their strengths is their continuity. Tatum, Brown and Smart have been on the same team for the majority of their careers (with Tatum the entirety). And Horford has been with them almost as long. Lastly, Trae is a volume shooter. It would be hard at this age for Tatum, Brown and Trae to give up individual stats in order to maximize each other. It took Tatum and Brown a long time to achieve the balance they have now.

  4. Celtics done with the miniature pg we someone like Jae crowder or Terrence Ross

  5. Celtics need another bench 3 and D wing. OG would be dream scenario but doubtful he would come off the bench and that he’s available. Young is a defensive liability and you would have to give up way to much production and defense to get him.
