Found it funny considering he said this to the NY Times today:

“The average fan might not understand what I bring to the table, but the G.M.s in the league do.”

    What do you bring, L’s??

Timberwolves are more fun to watch on offense with Reid on the floor than with Gobert. You remember that terrific Timberwolves offense last season? The one that finished eighth overall in offensive rating. Yeah, I feel like when the offense has Reid on the floor, it does remind me of the offense from last season. Way more spacing. I would be lying to you all if I said that I don’t miss last season’s Timberwolves. Winning was a big part for it. And the Timberwolves offense was really fun to watch. It was a fun show out there. This year’s Timberwolves team is really testing my patience. Hoping for a turnaround…starting now.

Would trading Rudy for Deandre Ayton be a good move? Much younger, fast, a bit cheaper and sounds like things are rough with him in Phoenix. I like Rudy a lot but I don’t think it’s the best match for us.

Ayton + Crowder + 1 first round pick for Rudy

Ignoring the massive overpay (which is hard to do), he has underperformed significantly and the critiques of his offensive incapabilities are more than valid. Watching basketball is supposed to be fun, and I have way more fun watching Naz lineups than Rudy lineups

At what point do we cut our losses and just try to get some value for him? He’s not working for our team and if we don’t want our picks to the Jazz to be lottery picks he might need to go if this is what it’s gonna be like. I’m still hoping we can work it out

This isn’t quite fair to Rudy — he wasn’t the reason that Wolves lost a lot of those games.

With that being said, he’s very clearly been a disappointment. The trade’s a giant L. No other way around it.

However, I think all that can be done now is be patient — right now Rudy’s clearly not being optimized on either side of the ball. I think a lot of that comes down to familiarity and trust. There were so many times where someone over-helps despite Rudy having the play well-covered, or, inversely, a bunch of times where Rudy doesn’t help because he doesn’t trust someone to rotate over to the backside and pick up Rudy’s man if he leaves to challenge a driver. Some of that is simply having a bunch of low bball IQ players (KAT, Ant, Nowell, etc.) but some of it is trust built over time. You can’t reverse the Rudy trade, so it’s just about trying to maximize it, and that’ll take time.

Not his fault we’re missing our star and best bench players. He could play better tho
