If Deandre Ayton is available by the trade deadline, why would Utah’s interest level be in him? Is this a fair price to acquire him?

Way to much going from the jazz. You could talk me into Kelly and the Brooklyn / minny / 6ers pick. But not Clarkson and another pick.

this would be a steal for us honestly

I don’t see how Ayton is an improvement to the Jazz. He can’t shoot from deep, can’t be paired with either Vanderbilt or Kessler on the court; doesn’t fit the Jazz offensive system and isn’t a defensive improvement either. On top of that, giving up 2 FRP’s, even protected and low picks, doesn’t make any sense for Utah.

I think it’s a stupid trade for Utah and it’s so unbalanced in favor of Phoenix that Utah and Washington’s FO’s would both hang up and block the number.

I think the price is close to fair. Not 100% sure Ayton is worth it, and I don’t think Washington should do that in a million years. They probably would though cuz they’re convinced they can compete and won’t accept a rebuild. I only see the Jazz trading picks in a big move if they want to win soon. I don’t think adding ayton to this team does that. In fact, with Kelly’s playmaking and floor spacing, I think we actually get worse if you put Ayton there, especially if we lose Clarkson too.

All this to say I think the price is maybe a little off (but not by much) but I don’t think the Jazz would be buyers for Ayton unless we got him for a steal.
