Andrew Wiggins on Team Canada: “I would love to play if they made the Olympics, but I won’t do no three-year commitment, you know? If not — I wouldn’t lose no sleep over it if they didn’t let me. If they didn’t, that would be on them.”

After watching football for so long, I used to think its a basketball thing to not represent your country. Seeing Jokic, Giannis and Luka ball out in the Eurobasket shows that it’s just a North American thing to represent your country when it suits your needs rather when called upon.

    no, i don’t know.

i’d love to be in a position to commit myself to competing at the Olympics with Canada across my chest.

    i actually couldn’t think of a higher honour. 🇨🇦

  3. I don’t like when players have a superiority complex no matter how good they are. Every player on team Canada has earned their spot

Wiggins is a great player and I would love to have him back. He’s done a lot for Team Canada and carried us in the past.

  5. I respect him for playing last year but I disagree with his stance here. He’s the only big name Canadian player who didn’t commit. And it annoys me that he thinks that if they do make the Olympics, it would be on the team for not taking a roster spot from a guy who helped get them there to give to him on a silver platter.

If Shai, Jamal, RJ, Brooks, Dort, etc can all play I don’t see why Wiggs can’t
