Thoughts on this trade from Bill Simmons?

Yea 100% I don’t see how raps or twolves want this trade?
FVV and Trent are free agents next year as well as Gabe and Max. No chance Arison would pay all of them, and we aren’t even getting rid of Duncan’s contract.
Lowry for FVV is interesting but I wouldn’t include picks. FVV can’t shoot but he is a better defender than Lowry
Trent doesn’t make much sense considering we have Herro, Dipo and Max
Hell fucking no. We are giving up Lowry+Jokic+one FRP just to add two more GUARDS? Trust me, more guards isn’t what we need, we need a PF.
I’d do a same trade and add even more picks if it was for OG Anunoby instead tho.
It’s not the dumbest trade Ive ever seen from Simmons.
Going forward I would much rather have Strus for $10m than GTJ at $22m, if we could get Thad Young instead it makes more sense because if we’re losing Jokic and already have a hole in the front court we really should be getting a solid PF. GTJ as a half season rental is just kinda meh.
I don’t think we do that deal unless somehow we know FVV will re-sign at a very reasonable figure, its been looking like Fred is starting to break down this season and Raptors fans have turned on him for the most part. There will still be a team with cap space that offers big money to sign him (Spurs, Magic, Thunder all have a ton of cap space and could use an experienced guard to start winning) and they can afford to trade him away in 2 years if he continues to decline.
This trade spends pretty much all our expendable assets and we don’t turn Duncan’s contract into a better fit for the roster. Pass.
Doesn’t fix our biggest problem.
You can tell when a lot of these media guys don’t watch games. A team has a size issue and you’re trading a pick for guys under 6’7.
