If we get a One first rounder and a terrible contract for Fred I would think it’s a W trade. We would have to attach a pick to Orlando for just cole with Fred. Fred is mentally challenged and plays bad defence.

"Intriguing" – what the fff??? …it is more than intriguing – If this team can get the FVV package done…you grab it and run! This channel or anyone who doesn't think this is a great trade – has over valued FVV like amateur's and have become wayy too much of a homer. Which is how Maple Leafs fans think! ..the always fall-in-love with a player (because change is so scary) even if it means other teams get championship runs now, while we get to say "wait till next year!" insisting on getting the same old band back together again with the same losing results….believing it will change all on it's own. This team has sucked since 2020 season, the losing isn't new – so If you think this team, with this coaching, with this style of play can make any noise at all "if" they get to the play-offs….well then I have high costing pumpkin stocks to sell you naïve suckers, come November 1st!

Vanvleet is support player at best. He’s not a max player and I’d take whatever the hell I could get for him. He’s not in shape and is always injured, too. His best playing days are in the rear view mirror.
I doubt that Orlando would surrender a lottery pick, in the 2023 draft, just for a rental of Fred.

When have we had a team of 6'9' players? The experiment has yet to be realized. I'd like to see Barnes, GTJ, Anunoby, Siakam, and Achiuwa tonight and get this experiment started. Better yet trade FVV for Bol Bol and put Barnes at the 1, Anunoby at the 2, Siakam at the 3, Achiuwa at the 4, and Bol Bol at the 5 — This teams wins a championship in two years.

Why would the Magic trade away a potentially good draft pick for Fred VanVleet, especially when there core would all close in age? The trade doesn't make sense for the Magic.
I wouldn't do that if I'm the Magic. They are a lottery team. It makes no sense, given as you said …they still won't climb themselves out with FVV. Only trades of 'in their prime' players would be to teams where FVV etc…would make them a contender. LA, Dallas Phoenix etc

Whoever wrote that piece should be prevented from writing anything similar for ANY reputable sports news network. The trade is SUCH a joke. Now to preface I am a Raptors fan, but the Magic are the 5th worst team right now and would no doubt be better served in continuing to tank for Wembenyama or Scoot and adding Vanvleet would better their team enough to ath tanking would be out of the question (and if you think well Fred would just play this awful for the rest of the season look at his first/second half splits in near his entire career. He almost always gets fired up in the second half). Next up, the Magic JUST resigned Mo Bamba and drafted Jalen Suggs and you are saying the Magic would not only be ok with putting their newly drafted PG of the future behind Vanvleet and would give up on a guy they just resigned. Now if your expecting that “oh well they would be shedding salary” then I ask you two questions, first off, what for? There are no real Superstar level players coming up in free agency any time soon. Second who would sign with the Magic after so many years of being awful? Finally, if Fred is not playing well enough to get a significant raise in pay he would just use his player option tying up another $20+ million of the Magic’s salary. There is zero reason for the Magic to do this trade (and this isn’t even going into why they wouldn’t trade their pick or Cole).

Yes you do the deal if it's real. The main thing is getting Achiuwa back, the team played best after the all star game last year when Achiuwa was playing a lot of minutes.
