I don’t understand the hate. He’s always impressed me

  2. lets_talk_basketball

Offensively he’s fantastic…. Defensively he’s 1 of the worst centers in the league.

  3. NigelGoldsworthy

Defense. But he’s still a valuable player, especially for a minimum contract.

  4. KaseyOfTheWoods

Defense. Nobody has ever said he’s bad on offense. But his defense is atrocious

  5. Laker fans don’t understand the concept of a role player. Look at how they treated Kuzma. Look how they’re turning on Lonnie. But in defense of fans with TB, defensively he’s bad. He gets bodied by the down low bigs and just lets the more diverse skilled centers do whatever they want.

  6. Can’t hemorrhage as many bad defensive possessions, even with him being a contributor on offense. It can be an anchor on the team if his offense isn’t rolling

  7. He’s a great backup center to have in your bench. His defensive limitations mean he shouldn’t be your best center.

  8. Danny_III

Defense. He’s a good backup though. The Lakers actually have a solid bench, they just need a couple of players to round out the starting lineup

  9. behappysometimes

He’s not, he’s a bench guy playing starter minutes. He’s an extremely talented offensive player.

18 points on 17 shots? Makes him good? Dude literally has to dunk and can’t even catch the ball properly

  11. MillaRedd

This man got F’d out of at least 10 free throws tonight. Ass refs.

  12. TheLoneliestMonke

    He’s massively overperforming his contract

  13. You’re on the wrong sub OP, everyone here hates our guards.

  14. Karametric

His defense is complete ass. He can produce in spurts, but you can never have a center that terrible at defense playing big minutes over the course of a season and be a competitive playoff team. Your last line is too important to compromise in that way.

He’s not good enough offensively to make up that negative, that’s why we got him for so cheap and why there isn’t a whole lot of demand for him. Okay role player, but he’s very replaceable.

  15. Czilla760

If anything, most people have clamoring for him to get more mins even when ad was in the line up

  16. JaxonStormBorn

He’s not great at defending that’s all

  17. liammon1992

He’s an absolute bargain and will have made himself some money in free agency with how well he’s come back from injury. The Lakers have him playing much more around the basket and rebounding than he did for Washington

  18. chaoticneutral1997

Defense. There’s been moments this season when he looked like terrible on that end

  19. Revolutionary_Map984

Bro, Plumlee played like Shaq against him. 😅 But TB is more than solid for his role as AD’s back up.

  20. I love him. He’s maximizing his talent. He’s never going to be taller than the other guys, never going to be Ben Wallace in defense for sure, but what he’s turning into is a solid backup center contributor for AD or if ever Lakers can get Myles Turner or any legit center like that. Bryant is turning into a gem game by game.

Can’t guard bigs or stay in front of guards

  22. pint_chillin

He’s a good off the bench dude. Super high energy.

  23. His biggest problem is guarding pick and roll in the drop cause he can’t elevate while he’s backpedaling

  24. Js_On_My_Yeet

His defense is so bad. That’s my only problem with him. Other than that, he’s been playing well. Once he gets going, he’s going to give you a double-double.

  25. niknokseyer

    Defense. Fouls a lot.

    Solid backup center.

  26. Disastrous_Bat_1704

Those that complain about his defense have no clue what defensive rotations are. Shore up the perimeter and he’s a great defender. It’s those times he and the other bigs have to slide over on help that their man scores.
