Ja Morant shines both on and off the court for Memphis Grizzlies

Happy New Year to you and yours. The Memphis Grizzlies enjoyed their time at home over the New Year holiday, finding ways to beat two potential playoff rivals in the New Orleans Pelicans and Sacramento Kings by double-digits. But even bigger than defense and rebounding, Ja Morant showed why Memphis is lucky to have him – both on and off the floor – as a member of the Grizzlies. Host Joe Mullinax talks that and more on this episode of Locked On Grizzlies!

  1. Grizzlies have a superstar for the first time in history. Zach Kleiman's job is to surround Ja with the best talent that he can. Currently there isn't a single player on the roster who is shooting at least 40% from three…not a single one. Both Jaren and Dillon are excellent defensively but Chris Wallace drafted both of them…not Zach Kleiman. For 13 consecutive games DeAnthony Melton has knocked down multiple threes and provided his excellent perimeter defense for the 76'ers. In John Konchar's previous 13 games he's only knocked down multiple three pointers once and his perimeter defense has been suspect at best. Ziarie Williams has been an absolute disaster and David Roddy should not be in the rotation for a none tanking NBA team. Zack Kleiman has not surrounded his superstar with proper talent or debth yet the so-called Memphis media will NEVER question him about it.
