>Let’s play a game. At the deadline, teams call up and offer players for Grimes, Quickley, two future firsts (one unprotected, one top 10 protected), and Rose/Fournier expirings. Who is the LEAST valuable player you’d take back?
Kind of hard to think of least valuable versus who you’d want, but…what do you think? For that kind of haul, it’d have to be a team cornerstone for a while.

I just don’t want to trade Grimes at all lmao, he’s 22 and the type of 3 and D guy that has a long productive career in the NBA even if he’ll never be a superstar
This is a fun game. I love Grimes and Quickley more than most. Both great defenders, both team guys who move the ball well and can shoot. They’re not throw ins, I think both guys can be real quality starters on good teams.
Is it crazy to say the main guy I’d really consider for that package right now is SGA?
The team is at a really weird spot with our youth and how many of our pieces haven’t even hit their peaks. I honestly can’t name a single player for that deal. You ideally want a star wing but this doesn’t get you that… Does OG really push the needle that far??? I’d just hold onto Grimes because he’s blossoming and I’ll bet on his future growth
In terms of least valuable. I’d have to go with Bradley Beal. He scores a lot but he’s not a real superstar IMO. Fancy stats but doesn’t impact winning. But in the spirit of going with your rules that would be my pick. Keeping Brunson RJ and Randle will have the team competitive. But Beal is not the guy who gets you over the hump compared to other superstars.
Forget grimes being traded or iq
But we should trade some picks for an established vet like derozan to help us in the 4th and playoffs. Someone who knows what he’s doing
If I HAD to, probably choose a SG/SF since we’re sending out Grimes/IQ. This seems like a fair price for a Mikal Bridges, OG Anonuby, Desmond Bane tier player. However, I’d consider Lavine as the least valuable player (lavine is good but injury prone and on a huge contract, so I’d consider that low value)
