they value his current production at 26 million and they want to keep the powder dry and not offer this man the 77 million he is earning while only being paid 14 million.

  2. EmrysMyrdin

That fucking dry powder will be the death of this team. Last time they did it they gave away Harrison Barnes for nothing and didn’t sign anyone noteworthy other than Seth Curry who they traded away for basically nothing again.

  3. sinik_ko

No they’re not. Wood isn’t taking the extension.

  4. Jon-Rambo

If they keep letting guys walk, Luka’s gonna walk in a few years.

I mean if he leaves we are gonna be hard stuck round 1 exit team maybe round 2 if we are lucky. Its really pissing me off that we cant make that jump. Its like Dirk years all over again

Mavs can’t offer him the 26 per until the offseason, why we gotta get ourselves upset over nothing?

  7. qotsabama

This is silly, the Mavs literally cannot offer Wood the money this article says he is worth. It is impossible lol. They have to wait until the offseason to pay him more than $19M a year…

  8. Two facts…

1 he’s eligible for an extension

2 if he waits until free agency, he’ll make more per year

    Conjecture…

1 either he wants to lock in a 4 year extension, or he wants to wait until free agency..

2 Mavs don’t want to max him in free agency for 4-5 years, but want him.

That adds up to no extension and they’re both happy
