[ESPN 97.5 HOU] “There are rumblings [Stephen Silas might not make it to Feb. 1st as head coach]”

It’s not exactly a story or anything and I’m not sure how reputable are this guys from ESPN radio show, but it probably puts more pressure on FO and coaching staff.

Personally, I wouldnt fire him midseason, as bad as it looks rn. But I would not keep him for next season. There’s an argument to be made here that if this year is all about making experiments, they might give some burn to coach Abdelfattah or John Lucas before the summer, if they already made up their mind Silas is not the guy.

If there really is any “rumbling” we might hear from guys like Tim McMahon, then I’ll start believing.

I kinda want Steve Nash to help develop a point guard

  2. While I am not on the “fire Silas” train I would be all-in on seeing John Lucas as the head coach. Obviously Lionel Hollins would be qualified, having already been a head coach for several years.

MacMahon usually seems to report as an agenda when talking about the Rockets the last couple years. I wouldn’t trust him over John and Lance.

If he gets fired it’s not really his fault. He was brought in to coach a veteran team and the team imploded. I don’t think he is a a good fit for this team. He is not a developmental coach as far as I am concerned. Great coach for a veteran team as most veterans like being coached by player coaches.

Yeah I seriously doubt it unless we see the players are unhappy, which so far is only Gordon and KJ both who might be on their way out by the end of the year anyway.
