Anytime the Knicks fans start crying about the coach it’s from 20 yrs of losing.. Any other coach would have failed this pass 2 and half years there is something called keeping a float this franchise has nothing to hold on to but losing.. Celtics and Clippers 2 more talented teams and maybe 3 Jazz some could argue. Clippers others are better than the Knicks at least the same level let’s be serious Stop it. Yes we all want more adjustments for this team but TALENT WINS..
Dan is absolutely 💯 on point. I am a Thibs supporter but He is linear in his Coaching approach. Thibs rarely deviates from his Coaching philosophy and style. I believe that the reason the Knicks have been inconsistent; and in my opinion underachieving, it's Thibs inability to adapt to the players skill set on the roster.

The cognitive dissonance has to stop. You can’t sit there and say Thibs doesn’t make adjustments when he literally just did and rang off an 8 game winning streak and 10 wins out of 15 games. He couldn’t make adjustments last year because he didn’t have the correct personnel on defense. We had Fournier and Kemba Walker guarding our perimeter! It was the exact opposite of what we got from Payton and Bullock. It may take Thibs a long time to make adjustments but saying he doesn’t make them is asinine at best. We need to think more critically than this.
That my issue with is that he doesn't adjustment that need to be made,an he plays favorite will kill a young man career
Thibbs is literally one of the 5 best coaches in the NBA.
As bad as we were last year, a lesser coach doesn’t get 28 wins out of our unit with Alec Burks as our PG. He got us to the playoffs with Elfrid Payton as our PG!

disagree. the roster needs to be consolidated. Thibs hasn't had a real PG/floor general since he got here. it's on the FO to provide the right pieces. Mitch was hurt in the playoffs against ATL (not Thibs' fault). DRose is at the tail end of his career and gave all he could vs ATL in the playoffs (and he still declining now). That was Randle's first time in the playoffs (I think). Yes, Thibs can be stubborn, but we also have to look at the players and their actual skill level. Fix the broken/useless parts of the roster! but I do understand the caller's mindset (it seems too scapegoat-y in my opinion though)

Great call and legit questions but CP nailed it before: Rose and Thibs are attached at the hip. He's not going to be let go unless things completely collapse. Might as well forget about it.
What kind of take is this on Thibs? A career winning coach, a win now coach, the players respect him,the team is bought in, the team is molding into what he likes as a team..DEFENSE. If Thibs takes us into the playoffs and win a few games..he did his job. We all know we need a superstar to add. Team is building and growing. Chances are Thibs finishes out his 5yr contract. What coach would want to step into a job that just fired a coach with a winning record…for nothing other than doing his job. There is a realistic ceiling for this team and it looks like they are on there way to hit that ceiling this year…playoffs. Good job Thibs if they do. If they Upgrade the team in the off season and lose, it's a new conversation. BTW Thibs replacement is probably already in the building when he goes away… Johnnie Bryant, there is the possible young coach of the future.
The critique on this video is valid, but Thibs works for The Knicks short term success goals. The Knicks may make the playoffs again (and they'll likely crash out early), but expect them to be tired from the short rotation…plus some player overuse injuries. That's the Hallmark of Thibs' coaching style.
Dan thank for your point as it is well thought and I agree with you, to a certain extent. Thibs is very limited couch, however, that rally applies to the offensive side of the ball. The schemes that he runs are read and react, too often, and does attack.
What am I saying ? For the team to take the next steps they have to run pick and rolls, north to south. More staggered screens to encourage ball and player movement. Lastly, the iso for Jules has to go, he is not Melo nor labron.
Second he is here to bring stability for a star. Think Brady/Belecheck. One creates environments for game and the other executes.
For better players to come or for success the team needs stability at all levels.

Jhonnie Bryant is the next head coach. Definitely had the experience and highly sought after. He’s staying for what I believe will soon be a transfer of the team. Thibedou is gonna end up pulling a move to the front office scouting talent and making front office decisions soon.
Mike Woodson should have been the guy. He was with us on all recent playoff teams (head coach and assistant).

We've had different lineups, different strategies, players in the rotation being taken out of the rotation to be put back in rotation.
From my perspective it's been on the players.
The games that we get smoked are because of uninspired defense and a resistance to work together on offense. The game against the suns was the perfect example of how they should play every game.
Not "waiting" for a double team, but "Drawing" the double to open up a teamate and the offball players moving around to make the defense have a hard time adjusting.
The games we lose are when the offball players stand in one spot and wait around.
Quinten Grimes looks like hes starting to take on more of a leadership role in both of those areas. His offball play and setting up his teamates is improving considerably and I believe that the other guys like IQ, Deuce, Fournier will all buy in. Randle even looks like hes buying in. I'm curious to see if RJ accepts Grimes as a leader though.
Thibs definitely has a ceiling and I think after this year, if we get bounced out of round 1 again, it'll be fair to move on and hand the reigns over to Johnny Bryant. That being said, if he could just change his approach to rotations a little bit or hire an offensive assistant like D'antoni, it could be worth keeping him. You can't deny that these young kids the Knicks drafted have actually gotten better under his development. It's just the way he uses them that's wrong, Quickley and Obi especially.
