Well that was fun until the final minute. Looks like WCJ tweaked something right at the end ugh. Hopefully it’s nothing or very minor.

Glad that we got contributions from almost everyone tonight. We’re going to need to be a lot better tomorrow if we want to have any chance of winning, but it was good to not choke this one away. Good bounce back game from Paolo.
But this game solidified that Bamba needs to go at the deadline. Thunder had literally 0 size and he couldn’t exploit it at all. No effort, literally 2 rebounds when he was being guarded by 6’6 Kenrich Williams. Just give me some random back up big who actually tries, I’m done with Bumba.

Paolo putting up Lebron type lines in his rookie season
This game shows exactly what I have been saying the whole season. This team looks so different without Bol. Literally I believe Bol is a blackhole. The guy is so unreliable defensively, is a liability/exploitable. Bol messes up with lineups, isnt a good defender, his offensive game is redundant with many of the others, so he mostly just stands around, he gets lost often. I have said it whole season, like I get the experiment, but he is mostly just a fad and seat getter. I truly believe this team is better both offensively and defensively without Bol but Bol has a certain potential that we should invest in but he isnt the end all and shouldnt be considered a part of the core.
Bol fits best with 3&D players like Cole, Caleb, Chuma, slightly Moe, Ross etc. Bol doesnt fit with slashers/playmakers. Bol is best off the bench and honestly imo should be getting limited minutes. Mo fits best with the starting lineup since Mo actually rebounds, sets strong screens, is a reliable 3pt shooting/pass out target/ can be a reliable roller, and is a strong p/p target. Mo generally steps on the court and stabilizes the team, keeps the game running smoothly, and the team makes little edges and this is with tankers like KH, and Admiral (who both did very well recently during the winning stretch but I honestly do not believe they are NBA players as of yet and are still needing of G-league polishing same with Bol honestly). Mo has shown he plays best with the SL, and what this coach does is make lineups that do not work good together, and rely on some individual heroics by either Franz, Cole, Paolo, or Mo. Like thats how we are winning these games, somebody gotta go supernova since the lineups are terrible.
It’s not even the fault of injury, this coach should have seen these things from the get-go. RJ, Caleb, and Mo all should have got minutes before KH and Admiral (again they were fantastic during the stretch but I feel like they have big flaws also that are exploitable that made it hard to win when they got many minutes). I truly believe this coach doesnt make good lineups. He should have seen that Bol would not fit with 4 other players who are exactly the same like him since Bol is the worst of them and Bol being the big is relied to be the anchor which he continuously fails at doing.
I really hate how we needed these suspensions so once again everybody will realize that RJ fits this teams timeline, has a useable skillset, and is developing nicely. This coach is failing at making use of these players. RJ fits great with Cole and Caleb, and probably Bol.
I truly believe RJ is a great Tross replacement and the Magic should have given him his extension. Mo should start, and honestly, I feel like Bol is the guy we need to watch for sending to gleague also. Like he is exploitable, he is a nice story, a nice developmental project but not at the expense of the whole team making a true lineup that works for everybody. The lineup I like is Fultz/Suggs, Franz, Paolo, Dell, Mo. With Fultz/Suggs, Cole, Rj, Caleb/Chuma, Moe/Bol. I honestly believe Caleb> Chuma but Chuma was locking up the other team’s best player so I can see him getting some favoritism. Not sure on JI but if he comes back 80% he probably is the starter or with limited minutes he still probably completely secures the bench C spot over Bol/Moe. I felt like this coach should have had this known from the getgo from preseason but he is a players coach, the guy probably listened to the players and didnt try to make a sensible lineup. I truly believe this coach failed this team with his lineups and his bias.
The way I see it for level of importance adding on skills, potential and age we have tier 1 – Paolo/Franz, Suggs. Tier 1.5- Mo, Dell, Fultz. Tier 2- Cole, Bol, Moe. Tier 3 – Caleb, RJ, Chuma. Tier 4- Ross, Gary. Tier 5- tankers.

Wendell remains a concern health wise, but it’s games like today that shows how critical he is to the team. We don’t lose the game to Washington if he isn’t heard. We probably take a few games during the 9 game slide with him in as well.
His rebounding and interior defense is second to no one on this team.
