Clearly that guy is a Miami fan. FVV and GTJR are two legit starters on any team (or 6th man). Signing at least one long term would be almost guaranteed for Miami. Jovic is solid, but that pick would probably move into the 20-something's by season end if this deal happened. That's not a very valuable pick historically. If Raps deal both together they're getting a long term young piece much better than Jovic and/or a lottery pick to increase odds of getting Wembanyama. Otherwise, they're better off dealing both separately and building around Barnes, Siakam and OG.
There are several reasons why the Toronto Raptors probably shouldn’t trade Fred VanVleet before the trade deadline:
1 – VanVleet is a key leader and contributor to the team: Despite his struggles this season, VanVleet has been a key player for the Raptors over the past few years. He is a leader on and off the court, and his presence on the team is valuable for team chemistry and cohesion.
2 – VanVleet is a proven winner: VanVleet has been a key part of the Raptors' championship-winning team, and his experience and leadership could be crucial in helping the team improve and make a deep playoff run in the future.
3 – Trading VanVleet may not necessarily solve the team's problems: While it is easy to point to one player as the cause of a team's struggles, the reality is that there are often many factors at play. Trading VanVleet may not necessarily address the underlying issues that the team is facing, and it could create new problems in terms of finding a suitable replacement for his role on the team. With the lack of backup guards on our roster, it could be a big risk trading away Fred, especially for a guy like Russell who sometimes doesn’t try on that end of the floor.
4 – VanVleet's value is at an all-time low right now, and won’t be accurately reflected in a trade: While VanVleet may not be performing at his best currently, he is still a valuable player who has the potential to bounce back and have a strong second half of the season. As such, the Raptors will not receive fair value in a trade for VanVleet.
5 – Given his poor performance this year, we may be able to bring him back on a smaller cheaper contract next season.
Overall, it would be wise for the Raptors to hold on to VanVleet and focus on improving as a team rather than making drastic changes to the roster.
I have a lot of respect for Fred for his personality, drive, and defense, but I can't deny his offense has been a liability this year. I would honestly trade him for draft picks at this point just to get him off the starting lineup.
Good Points Ben. I think FVV needs to be a bench player for the rest of the season, for his struggles, and to get his energy back, from Nick Nurse that has overworked him. NN yesterday post-game interview praising him and Flynn for defending Halliburton was such a joke, neither could defend him. I'm fine with FVV staying the rest of the year, but in a bench role. Nick Nurse, from his interview thoughts, he is asking to be fired by Ujiri, and I do think at the end of the year he'll be let go, and a new coach will come in to take this team on another path. Garry Trent Junior though needs to be traded, he is going to opt-out and the end of the year 100%, we need to get something for him before he leaves.
Garbage trade scenario. Raptors players are coveted, where the rest of these teams are trying to unload their bad contracts. Toronto is historically not into helping other teams at the detriment of our own.
Haha I will not trade Malachi flynn for that brick master Russell. But out brick master Fred vanvleet needs to go also. Please keep Gary Trent unless he’s helping bringing a superstar

The Heat would love that. No thanks.

DLO is basically another VanVleet with even worse defense and leadership.

Another joke trade by little Billy, if its not Boston he knows nothing
I feel raps can do better.. although Bum Vleet is consistently bringing his value lower and lower each game.
Why would Twolves want another huge contract?
Change the v to a c and we’ll consider it!! 😉

Why would Timberwolves want Kyle Lowry, He's over paid and is getting too old?
Lets bring Kyle back
