Yes it can, give him actual consistent 3P shooters and not bottom of the barrel ones and a dude to average 20+ ppg and his teams defense from last season and he wins the championship. Just go look for yourself excluding KP ( most games he played while with the Mavs was 50 in a season ) he’s NEVER had a 20 or more ppg scorer as a teammate.
IMO hes playing for MVP cuz the team doesnt get out of the west with this style of play. Fun to watch tho

Harden have stars in his team, so this is not the same. As for the possibility of winning the championship, you are wrong, because Luka is not like the others. In the playoffs, Luka is a completely different story, as Harden plays worse under pressure, while Luka plays much better.

Everyone on the Mavs is being asked to play above their talent level. Brunson stepped up in the 2nd half of last season & this allowed them to get to the WCF where he had the same usage in the Suns series as Jaylen Brown did in the playoffs. Give the Mavs a few more talented, multi-dimensional role players & they will win. Unless you unreasonably expect any star in the league to be able to contend with Dinwiddie & Wood as their next best players, it’s plain to see that the issue isn’t “Luka ball,” it’s that the Mavs just don’t have enough to contend. It’s honestly that simple.
You can only compare Luka to Harden if he is paired with a pure all-star teammate as what Harden were in Houston. Luka was great in the playoffs, only that he lacked reliable help from a pure all-star. Let's see until he got that kind of teammate and still didn't work, then the Harden comparison would be valid.

Idk man, luka keeps meeting his criticisms head on and works on improving them. He was most known for his stepbacks, but now he has added a mid range game, and he also addressed criticisms about his fitness and now even the bad at defense argument is becoming dubious. Honestly, it is sad that doing everything in your power to will your team to win is just being labeled as a stat padder, ball hog, etc. So much is expected of Luka, scoring, playmaking, rebounding, better defense, and clutch play. Luka has to get back on the court everytime the Mavs somehow blow their leads

I believe that Luka is more than a Harden type player. The thing is, Luka always prove that he's good in the playoff. Just like last year, no one really saw the Mavs reaching the WCF but because we have Luka, we always have a chance. The front office needs give him a second star ASAP.

If we just look at this years maverics roster and James Harden led Rockets, Harden had way more help with Chris Paul,Capela,Gordon,… How can you watch the game against the Spurs and not see that Luka is putting up this numbers because he has to, not because he wants to…

There hasn't been a player like Luka before. All the comparison fly out the window. Harden and the Rockets have nothing to do with Luka. Luka made it to the wcf with JB (on his rookie contract) as a "second star". O yes, Luka was also on his rookie contract when the made the wcf. Was Harden even the primary PG when he was on his rookie contract? Dinwiddie and Wood and a healthy team are enough to help Luka and Mavs go all the way. It would be better if they could get a Buddy Hield type of shooter instead of THJ but i don't think Mavs will part with THJ for some reason.
luka does not have help, they said the same about harden until he got help(cp3), and they almost beat the best team ever assembled if not for injuries

Imho you can’t say high usage is the players fault!?!? That’s coaching and organizations fault!!!!! The player is told to do what he needs to do or a specific task and how is he supposed to have different outcomes when he’s doing his jobs “task”!! I totally agree. It's not his fault tho. If you watch the games you will realize that most of the roster if they try to dribble they gonna TO the ball. Mavs need to bring a guy that Luka can trust with the ball and play off ball more cuz this thing won't work. Even if the offense is running smoothly in the playoffs he will become a target and gonna get exhausted. If someone else can bring the ball half court and run some plays+create his own shot Luka might be able to be more aggressive on D even if they target him.
