Kentucky basketball and John Calipari just picked up a solid win over the LSU Tigers.
On today’s episode of Locked On Kentucky, Lance Dawe recaps the Kentucky Wildcats 74-71 win over LSU basketball. It was a complete team effort – well, from the seven players that played. Coach Cal ran a short rotation and the starters shined – Jacob Toppin had another phenomenal night, Oscar Tshiebwe was dominant as usual, Sahvir Wheeler played point masterfully, and Cason Wallace showed he could hit a shot in the clutch.
Could Kentucky be turning things around?
Lance is also joined by Isaac Shade of the Locked On College Basketball Podcast to talk about Kentucky basketball’s fanbase and the short and longterm frustrations with John Calipari. This game, while not perfect, was a step in the right direction. I like the condensed rotation.
The mistake was giving any coach that much money and that high a buy-out.
Believe it or not these kids hear our fan base but bashing them when they are down is kinda embarrassing. This was the best game I seen this team play.

Playing no bench for a handful of games is interesting but is not a season-winning strategy. Additionally, some guys are probably looking at transfer schools already.
