Aside from the fact that we absolutely should resign him… we won’t get much back for him given his expiring contract. He’s not even close to our best asset in the trade market. Even if you don’t want to resign him- he would be a better trade bargain later once he’s locked into a contract and probably after another year of development. He hasn’t even turned 24 yet.
A 20ppg multilevel scorer that’s capable on defence isn’t exactly easy to find. Not to mention no one wants to sign here. It’s like y’all think we can easily get free agents.

A 23 year old averaging near 20 ppg is gonna be hard to replace. That’s the type of player you keep. If it’s 4/90 I don’t care, they’ve been taking it off my phone bill for decades so they better spend it on something cool like a GTJ.

I tend to agree although I think if Masai decides to unload, he’s unloading virtually everyone except for Scottie…he’s going to either keep the core together, re-tool and try to land a top-10 pick this season OR he’s going to completely shock everyone, trade everything and rebuild from the ground up with a Utah Jazz type move where they collect an ungodly amount of draft picks and young players.
