According to NBACentral’s info from Marc Stein, Myles Turner has rebuffed Indiana’s contract offers. Is Turner a desirable trade target? What would be a fair price for the Mavs to acquire him?

  1. Bro has been incredibly vocal about wanting to play in Dallas. I still remember how much he was complimenting Luka during the playoffs last year lol

Give them whatever they want outside of Luka, idc

I’ve been all over this the past couple weeks after thinking about it. Just commented on the Bojan/Bertans post too about Turner.

Turner = Dallas native (would love to be here), 26 yo (fits Luka timeline), shot blocker, spaces the floor, mobile defender, solid rebounder

It’s a no-brainer move. We tried getting him last deadline before he got hurt.

I don’t know what it would cost. I think Doe + McGee + a 27′ FRP is solid. I know people don’t want to hear that about Doe but you have to be realistic in these trades.

    Luka – Dinwiddie – Green – Wood – Turner

    Hardy – THJ – Bullock – Maxi – DP

That’s a squad man. The next goal this off-season would be to acquire that dynamic wing player (OG aka).

Everyone always loves the idea of turner more than what he actually is, I’d rather have wood

Watch Cuban try to out-think the front office and talk them into thinking Myles Turner will be available and dying to play for a hometown discount in the offseason. And then have to compete with the Lakers, Spurs, Celtics, Hornets, and a slew of other teams that see his value.

Would be classic to set up the meeting like Deron Williams and then no-show for the pitch.

Although I hope things will change at some point and they actually roll out the red carpet for a guy we want! Preferably via trade before he hits the open market.

To answer the OP, I think the key isn’t necessarily to outbid other teams, but to come close while talking to Turner’s agent about signing an extension that Myles would be happy with. That way, if he likes the idea, he can help shorten the Pacers list and prevent an all-out bidding war by refusing to sign long-term with teams he doesn’t want to be traded to. It would be hard to outbid everybody with just 1st round picks because there are teams with more and better picks (OKC and NOA for example), unless their coach wants some of his OBs like Powell and THJ.

Bertans, THJ, and a FRP for Hield and Turner would solve all of our problems

We need to get him bc obviously the cheaper option center Nico got isn’t working out. Nico said we don’t need a big name center because in game 5 of the playoffs, we need all the shooters on the floor

I feel like people already forgot how much KP’s injury issues held this team back. Turner is a risk, FO is going to be cautious.

Isn’t he another expiring contract? Get him in FA, not at the deadline.

Mom said this season was my turn to post the Myles Turner trade post first 🙁

Dk what it would take but yes he is the ideal target

Turner is a perfect fit and there is a big chance that he re-signs here as he is from Dallas. He is also only 26. I really want him here. If we can get him for a reasonable price then it is a no brainer.

I can already see the surprised Pikachu faces in this sub when Turner gets here and, being an injury prone big men, gets injured regularly.

  14. This is a every year thing lol it ain’t happening

  15. ConvolutedMaze

If we can get him and bojan too I would be a very happy man.
