I think stone is perfectly happy to let Eric walk in the summer and open up the cap space so he doesn’t mind waiting for someone desperate enough to pay his price. I imagine he’d give some wiggle on protection, depending on the partner, as we get closer to deadline.

Given that Christian Wood only garnered a late first-round pick in a trade, it seems unlikely that Eric Gordon would fetch anything more than that. There are rumors every trade deadline that Gordon could be traded for a first-round pick, but I remain skeptical until a trade happens.
I made this prediction last off-season. The most likely scenario is either Gordon gets a buyout or we get a 2nd round pick at the trade deadline.
