Pacers WILL Trade Myles Turner Over Contract Extension

Myles Turner is reportedly turning down contract extension offers from the Indiana Pacers, sources told Marc Stein of Substack. Turner, who changed management agencies in November, has been the frequent target of trade rumors this season. The two sides opened up contract extension discussions in late December. The Pacers, who have $25 million in cap space this season, have discussed a renegotiation-and-extend deal where Turner could make an extra $19.1 million on top of his $18 million contract this season. – Marc Stein/Substack

  1. LMAO….How many negotiatins end after the teams 1st offer? This is just more stupidity from fans of teams that want him, just as most of the trade rumors over the last few years have been BS from fans and writer/fans of teams that want him to be traded for garbage , the favorite team of whoever is reporting or repeatng the BS. The only thing this report actually says is that Turner and the Pacers haven't agreed on a deal yet. I'll be shocked if a deal doesn't get done, they have months to work out a deal and both sides want to get it done.

  2. Current offer that Pacers gave him would be 7 million less per year than they were willing to give Ayton and im sure Myles is still annoyed that the Pacers were about to pay Ayton 133.

  3. as i pacers fan i was waiting for this, fun watching this team but gotta keep the bigger picture in mind.

  4. I'm a pacers fan and never like Turner. I actually have watched his full game play for years. We need an upgrade at center position. Pacers know it (why we pursued Aayton while Turner still under contract). He's not a good rebounder or can get his own shot unless it's a open 3 pointer. People make me laugh cause he gets 2 blocks a game think he's Mutombo with a 3 point shot. Bottom line, his game hasn't improved much in 8 years here, he's injury prone and blames others and can't function on floor with other big men cause he has not game beyond pick and rolls and 3's. I want us to move on from him all year so we can continue to develop Jackson and Smith who can actually play with others down low.

  5. The extension is both generous and team friendly for our future. If he's adamant about testing free agency I think he's going to force us to trade him in the next month.
