QUOTES/NOTES/TOPICS:

• Klay Thompson postgame on how frustrating the loss was: “It never feels good and I felt we fought really hard tonight…gave ourselves a chance to win it…proud of every single man who played. Five wins in a row at home…bounce back Saturday.”

• On what Poole can learn: “I told him in the locker room there’s a reason why I threw him the ball…we all go through those lapses early in our career. I remember missing two free throws in a loss against the Nuggets and leaving the arena in my uniform…continue to trust him with the ball in his hands…makes the engine go.”

• On the second technical: “Draymond is such an important piece of what we do. Still could’ve had a chance to win…sucked he got kicked out but it’s not his fault. We lost. We had a chance to win.”

• On the fans braving the storm: “I hope they get home safely…there’s a reason why our record is so great at home.”

• On if it’s possible to take the boat in this weather: “Have you seen A Perfect Storm? It doesn’t end well…she is a beast.”

• On what he said to Poole: “continue to work hard…we would not have that banner without Jordan…the work will reveal itself…we’re better than our record reflects.”

• On if these losses sting more early in careers: “You wanna be so great every night…embrace that journey.”

NOTE: From Golden State Warriors postgame after loss vs Detroit Pistons, held at Chase Center in San Francisco, CA. We will go live for the ORL-GSW game on Sat 1/7 at 5:00PM PST, which tips off at 5:30PM.

  2. I know JP is down bad from this but he needs to learn and it’s all part of the process to do better. He’s a great player but he needs to control his speed better and make better decisions in crunch time…those costly turnovers. This is all part of growing as a even better player…he’s young…he will be okay.

  3. We know how great Poole is, he needs to learn and get better from this. It’s in crunch time moments he needs to learn to not overthink and do less.

  4. JP seems to practice the art of “Couging It” way better than an actual Cougar!
The guy sometimes reminds me of a six month old puppy that has no idea what to do with its arms and legs . Hopefully he will grow out of it.

  5. You know what keep giving the ball to Poole if he is quote on quote the next Steph of this team he is going to take a lot of criticism and eventually dude will be that guy for us “trust the process” and “strength in numbers”

  6. JP is still growing and he'll mature. Klay is just so supportive and laid back in interviews.

  7. I hope next time in last few minutes (risky play) I hope he just wait for the ball and shoot. He dribbles a lot and everytime he either slipped or ball will be stolen from him😊

  8. Biggest loser ever always looks like he cries after losing be a man instead of recruiting kd to join your team to beat lebron chump

  9. A win is always nice, but given how they've played after that road trip, there are way more positives to take into account.

  10. Love how classy Klay is… and JP keep your head up and just work on lower body strength. You got this! 💙💛

  11. He said things as expected. For Poole, facts. Same for Dray… Next game! Better Poole messing up now than during an important PO game.
