Yeah, that was a lucky break…was cheering for the Heat in that game. But it looked like a last minute collapse was inevitable for the Nets. They did well to get the dub after KD went off. This season has been crazy so far.
Man this team is so ill. Kyrie playing the secondary leadership and the defense and calm demeanor of this team allows them to win against good teams without their main star. The Nets are LEGIT🔥💯
In the regular season sure. They are gonna fall apart come playoff time.
Horrible time to not have Bam, won’t dwell on it because the Nets lost KD for the second half as well.
However the final play no call foul on the Butler game winner was pretty egregious.
Ben Simmons gotta step it up while KD. Ben needs to consistently be a threat as a scorer for this team, he should be averaging 15+ ppg on the regular. The Nets are gonna miss KD so their great run of form will slow down. Ben can be used as a weapon offensively as he can put a ton of pressure on the rim.
Without KD the man who has to step up the most is the obvious answer, Kyrie Irving. Kyrie needs to take the responsibilities of the Nets no.1 on offense and be an oncourt leader. He needs to give energy on defense and inspire his teammates. When watching the Nets games, Brooklyn seem to be much more involved and determined to play hard on defense when they see that the stars of the team are putting in the work to stay on their opponent, play help, and rebound. KD has been playing like an MVP candidate this season and his loss will hurt the Nets but if Kyrie can step into the no.1 role and be a vocal leader and role model to his teammates then Brooklyn will continue to win games.
Ben Simmons gotta step up the most,ever since he came to Brooklyn he haven’t been looking like the Philly Ben Simmons everyone expected and haven’t been aggressive as I want him to be (I am a Nets fan) but wit KD out,he can step it up and be more aggressive,and return badk to the Philly Ben Simmons everyone know.
Kyrie is going to step up in a big way, but the other guy who will do it I think is tj warren who is playing really well right now

Seth, Joe, Cam, Edmon, TJ Warren, You can even throw Morris and Sharpe he is a good big body rebounder who can take free throw and not too bad at the mid range and have even hit 2 3's already. They still have a lot of fire power

Claxton. If he steps up his scoring a bit , you can have at least a consistent lob threat with kyrie going Iso and hitting open guys. And have Ben Simmons run the second unit with all shooters and pick and roll with claxton. If he can score 25 ish a night with there outside shooting. They can hold down the fort.
in my opinion while KD is out for injury I think the ones who have to step up are the medics. Not only for the nets but also KD's carreer and the whole nba fanbase. get well soon

Despite all the controversy and criticism Kyrie’s skills and game has never been in question
Gotta do it in the playoffs, especially considering after what they did last season. This all looks cute now, but would mean nothing if they choke in playoffs. As of now, they are doing great and this win streak will give them the cushion, with KD out for atleast 2 weeks
