You mean they’ve been ignoring the majority of his requests for five years? Then yeah, for sure.

  2. kwesi777

    Lmaoooo

They just assert shit, and assume it’s true. It’s not Lebrons fault that Pelinka/Lakers are hated by CAA who manages like half the league. It’s not Lebron fault that Jeannie Buss is a cheapo and that Pelinka sucks at his job. KOC acts like Pelinka is Pat Riley lmao

  3. LAlakers4life

#LAKERS IS WHERE STARS ARE TREATED LIKE SUPER STARS IF YOU CAN HANDLE THE BRIGHTEST LIGHTS AND WIN CHIPS…

  4. PuppyMonkeyBaby_0

LeBron brought himself and AD to LA and played like the first and second best players in the world to win. The Lakers owe LeBron any success they have had or will get sense 2019.

  5. yungzoowap

Because of media takes like this is why the front office will never have to change. This narrative is so easily pushed

  6. If Lebron actually had a hand in the roster… we would still have Caruso, Duds on the training staff and Demar would be a Laker

  7. Jmills14

Two idiots. They’ll ignore Ty Lue, Caruso, not getting Derozan, letting Dwight go, Zubac trade not even offering Dudley an AC job.

They’ll focus on one move and one move only. Truth is Lakers were great in 2020, great to start 2021 and then they got hurt (with an even better roster). They had a horrible 21-22 season but have played better this year.

  8. Ill_Celery_7654

Can’t even take this guy serious he looks and sounds like a joke.

  9. TheWhisperingDeath

I mean yes. Lakers don’t owe LeBron anything.

In reality, no team should owe any player anything. Doesn’t matter who it is because the team is bigger than any player. Always.

But its not about what Lakers owe LeBron. Its about what Lakers owe their fans and their best interest of the team. Lakers have two of the Top-10 players in the league at worst who at their best can play like Top-5 players in the league and are a nightmare match-up wise in the play-offs. So to not going all in on that is nothing short of criminal. Chances of Lakers getting even one player as good as AD or LeBron out of those 2027 and 2029 picks is negligible. Nevermind two all-NBA calibre players they have now.

The other shit about LeBron building the entire team, Vernon and KOC are just talking absolute nonsense in hopes of getting more clicks. Should be ignore. Not worth the attention.

  10. bernardosoares26

who the fuck are these bozos? And who watches this?

  11. New_Stage_6228

I hate these new age analyst and podcasters. They clearly can’t keep their bias out of their shows. It’s clear he doesn’t like Lebron but to say they don’t owe him anything? That’s wild. He resigned to then with somewhat of blind faith… and they still haven’t made any moves. That’s wild considering everybody knows he’s trying to compete for rings. It’s disrespectful.

  12. PretendDubs

Such a dumb point you shouldn’t want to make the team better for Lebron you should do it to make the fans and people who support your team happy. You should have a want to improve this team as much as possible to try to compete at a high level. Why is Lebron the only person who benefits from a better team. This is such a hater/narrow way of looking at things why wouldn’t you want get better players around 2 of the best guys in the league.

  13. hellokitty2469

It’s never about “owing” lebron it’s the simple fact that our interested align in that we want to win titles and maximizing lebrons window is the best way to do that….?

  14. TheWonderfulLife

They don’t. They absolutely don’t. And if you think they do, you are a Lebron Stan or aren’t thinking logically. They paid him handsomely over the years for his services and he did not take any pay cuts. They helped build his off court legacy and brand by attaching it to the Laker brand and Hollywood.

Say what you want, but not ALL those doors open if he played for the Clippers or even worse not in LA at all.

With that, it doesn’t mean they can completely dismiss his opinion on the current state.

  15. Nothingtoseeheremmk

How about what they owe to the fans instead?

  16. moongaia

Truth truth and nothing but the truth, sorry to butthurt bron fans

  17. What a brain dead take from the both of them. I guess the Lakers might as well pack it in for the rest of the decade to really stick it to LeBron, who just wants to win championships

  18. BarcaClassFutbol

u/KevinOConnorNBA You are a biased Celtics fan who is better off keeping our name out of your mouth

As a Celtics fan, your preference would obviously be for our F.O. to sit on their hands and not surround LeBron with more talent in favor of preserving assets

  19. WestVirginiaFan15

Whoever the cohost is truly is an idiot lol. Lost brain cells during the first bit where he spoke

  20. CabbageStockExchange

You can make the argument the Lakers don’t owe LeBron anything. But if you care about this team and are running it. When you have LeBron fucking James and AD. All bets are off you have to give yourself the best chance to win every season you have them. Doing any less is a disservice to the franchise history and to the fans imo

  21. KarmaPoIice

This is absolutely dumb fuck retarded jesus christ. It’s not about owing LeBron anything…It’s about realizing he offers you one of the best chances possible at another championship and maximizing that possibility.

  22. CometAzur42069

This would all be avoidable if AD didn’t constantly get injured. The Westbrook trade sucked ass but with AD being healthy you could write it off as something fixable. Instead they can’t stay healthy so they can only work within the margins.

  23. I agree. The Lakers have to look at their interests and future. They signed Lebron, and basically gave him say over every asset we cultivated from a 6 year rebuild and a few other picks in order to build the team he wanted. But now there’s no realistic path to contention, so the Lakers shouldn’t just spunk their picks on some player(s) that will make them a 7th seed.

I’m all in favor of mortgaging the future for the present, but only if there is a real chance the team can compete for a title, and none of you believe this team is capable of contending, and if you do, you’re frankly deluded.

  24. Perfection at its finest, nailed it, this sub needs to wake up

  25. Can anyone show me a team that was able to win a championship now while also setting up their next title team in the future when the win now core is finished? As far as I can remember it is impossible (i’ve been following the NBA since 1985). I remember teams trying and failing for sure (Dallas Mavericks title team comes to mind) and teams extending their window but that usually involves some luck (Lakers essentially replacing Norm Nixon and Jamal Wilkes with B Scott and Worthy or the Warriors lucking into KD with Steph’s below contract and historic jump in salary cap)

But my point is I think in the NBA you have to be trying to win now or building for the future… You can not divide your resources into both baskets. So if the team/FO thinks this team can contend they should be doing *everything* possible to improve the roster around Lebron and AD. If they don’t this this is a contender or that they will be healthy then they need to do everything they can toward next season and beyond… for me it’s that simple.

But I really hope they aren’t just making decisions based on the salary cap/tax… with their local tv contract, arena naming rights deal (if they get something from that), jersey patch money etc… they should have some cash to pay luxury taxes 🤷🏾‍♂️

  26. Fallofmen10

Bro more than like 75% of the ringer is ran by celtics fans… I don’t listen to anything they say about Lebron or the lakers. Its pure fucking garbage.

  27. Danny_III

The Lakers don’t owe Lebron anything but they would be dumb not to go all in while they still have a championship window

  28. They’re 100% correct the problem is this sub is mostly bishazz Leb fans who don’t care about the team and don’t know sh!t about the game.

  29. DelaRoad

Truth. But the LeBron fans will never accept it.

  30. zenharden1

Sure, the organization got their commitment from LeBron, but their unwillingness to try and win at least for a couple more years when you still have LeBron playing well is a disservice. You could have LeBron on other rosters right now, and he could lead them to a championship, and he’s a once in a generation type player.

  31. Who is this? Who would spout off these shit takes with no supporting evidence?? Gotta drum up the views somehow. What a hack.

  32. LennoxAve

Every super star has input on roster construction. But a good front office works with their stars. Because at the end both parties want to win.

  33. danielmisir

The hate for LeBron/Lakers has gotten so irrational that LeBron saying he wants a better team is some sort of Cardinal sin. Ya’ll don’t want a better team? You wanna lose? Blasphemy.

  34. Illustrious_Isopod69

These the same personalities that will ask “would you rather have the 2023 championship or Wembanyama?” Lol stfu. You don’t make the team better to appease LeBron, you make the team better because you own a sports franchise and you should have a competitive spirit/will to win championships.

  35. StuckFern

I 100% agree with them. Pelinka has shown the ability to build quality rosters (see 2020 and 2021 rosters). The mistake was trading for Westbrook because LeBron/AD pushed for it. we shouldn’t just trade all future assets for poor return because LeBron wants it.

  36. Teclysia

They don’t. LeBron fans trying hard to make him the GOAT even though he’s not even the best player of his generation. Curry is
