Free agent center Derrick Favors is signing a 10-day deal with the Atlanta Hawks, source tells ESPN. Favors, who played college and high school basketball in Atlanta, averaged 5.3 points and 4.7 rebounds for the Thunder a season ago.

Good signing of GA Tech player. I hope he can help fill Capela’s absence. I have some doubts though. He is a bit undersized and he is also a traditional center. It feels like todays centers need to either stretch the floor or play bully ball. I am not sure if Favors is either. It could work out though because Capela is also a traditional center and Favors can be the guidance veteran Hawks in the locker room needed desperately since Vince and Lou. We need Capela…. Hope he heals soon.
