Detroit Pistons Go Down As Much As 41 In Worst Loss Of The Season To Joel Embiid, Philadelphia 76ers

The Detroit Pistons were without Isaiah Stewart, Bojan Bogdanovic, and Jalen Duren in their second matchup against the Philadelphia 76ers. In this game, however, Joel Embiid played and it resulted in the Pistons going down by as much as 41 points in what was their worst of the season by far.

  1. You know when we were getting blown out, I started rooting for the 76ers to stretch lead just to see ur reaction loool

  2. Anyone that allowed this game to bother their happiness in life should maybe lay off basketball for a while.. McGruder was playing the 3, some guy snuck his way into a uniform and Casey was forced to play him. This is a burn the film kinda game. The minimum amount of talent needed to even evaluate or work on things wasn't met.

  3. sadly i think either Kill or Ivey will be off the team in the (very) near future. Somebody has to come off the bench next year and with both having personal goals that involve starting, Troy has a tough decision coming up 😥

  4. i think the real shake up of this team won’t come until we know where we’re drafting. if we get 3 or lower, i think a Cade-Ivey backcourt could work in a Tatum-Brown fashion. If we get Wemby, a Cade-Kill backcourt would work better imo. If we get Scoot, i honestly have no idea what we’ll do 😭

  5. If anybody thinks the Pistons will ever contend your drinking some 100% alcohol coolaide…Gores doesn't care!!! The whole NBA is trash- 17 of 30 teams @ .500 and below after roughly 40 games . Owners make to much money to lose and still make a profit!! Wake up sports fans, it's not going to change- stop buying into making the owners rich!!!

  6. Theres an uncomfortable truth that’s not being talked about regarding Ivey, Hayes and our backcourt in general. Ivey and Hayes have been in a internal battle for the future starting guard position alongside Cade, if you notice every time either of them score’s or make’s a play the other would immediately try to one up the last. Hayes has been looking a lot better partly because he’s been in Casey’s system for 3yrs and he’s had time to adjust and develop his game. Ivey seems to have alot of talent but there’s clearly a major learning curve he has to go through to fully open up his game.

The problem we’re facing is we have 3 ball dominant guards that we’re trying to develop, at the expense of adequate 2 way talent on the wings. This is a issue that starts at the top with Weaver, in his defense I believe had Hayes developed this well last year Troy Weaver wouldn’t have drafted Ivey at 5. Instead I think he drafts Duren or trades down to get him while retaining Grant on the wing, with the possibility of still trading Olynk for Bojan. Hayes lack of development last year put the Pistons in a awkward predicament, now that he’s playing well some fans are having buyer’s remorse on Ivey.

I think one of these guards will eventually be traded in order for the pistons to secure the talent needed to compete. I believe it boils down to style of play and whoever Weaver decides to go with as coach. If it’s Casey; Hayes will most likely stay, if not expect some major changes because this team still has glaring holes and along way to go!

  7. The Pistons ENTIRE problem is Dwayne Casey!!! His ass needs to be fired immediately if not sooner. What has he done since he has been the Pistons head coach over the past 5 years?? Absolutely shit! Who has he developed?? Nobody!! Fire his old ass style of coaching and bring in a younger refreshed coach to properly develop and coach this young core. I want Ime Udoka.

  8. Ivey is averaging 15/4/4 on 41% shooting overall and 33% from 3. Anyone who thinks Ivey is having a bad year or is a bust or something is a flat out retard who doesn't understand how the NBA works. He is one of the best rookies this year. He has definitely met expectations and will only get better. He has noticeably been expanding his game all year and his shooting form is looking better and better. He has proven he can play equally well on and off the ball. He is only going to get better from here and I am excited to see him develop over the rest of this year.

Oh btw, Mathurin is averaging almost EXACT percentages with 2ppg more and 2.5apg less. Pistons fans are unbearable and need to STFU.

  9. Let them have it ku these guys are all millionaires they deserve to get criticized for their horrible performances I don’t care anymore all we ask for them is to compete that’s it……

  10. This season with how it’s currently going should remind fans how friggin good of a talent Cade is. A healthy Cade can dismantle an opposing team. Please for the love of God I hope Weaver puts the right pieces alongside him.. man I miss Cade out there

  11. The team doesn't hasn't any consistency and leadership. Not sure Casey is a good solution at the coaching position.

  12. I've seen soooooo many tweets about Scoot and so many about Ivey. I don't think it's a coincidence. If we draft Scoot who is Troy going to let go? That's the question. Meanwhile, people are saying that Ivey's not playing well. I'd like to know your opinion on that part of the equation.

  13. I missed the game and it sounds like the Pistons missed the game too. It also looks like the game ended at the half. My biggest disappointment is seeing how guys fail to compete on defense and seeing how seldom we out work other teams. I'm running out of things to see as silver linings. I'm still encouraged by Kill's development, Beef growth, Duren accelerated impact, and Ivey's burst. But I am disgusted by the lack of defense…it's absolutely sickening. If we don't win the next game, we could end up losing 9 straight.

  14. It's coaching Ku, it's clearly coaching! Teams reflect the personality and character of their coach and in my opinion the Pistons are an overthinking non aggressive no swag having team. I'm not saying Casey is a bad coach, I think he's a great long term developer and role model and father figure just like Jim Caldwell was with the Lions but I don't think he brings out the dawg in these guys and he doesn't instill that assertness and swag and love for basketball that rookies like Paolo Banchero and Benedict Mathurin are able to show. Dwayne Casey develops great players but he hinders potential superstars. I guarantee Jaden Ivey, and Saddiq Bey would be playing much better on the Pacers or the Cavs or a team who's coach understands how to allow his young stars to play like dawgs. It drives me insane when Ivey gets a breakaway and does a bullshit 2 hand half layup dunk when in college he was windmilling, it drives me crazy when Saddiq's slow ass doesn't just focus on murdering opponents from behind the arc the whole game rather than trying to penetrate when it's not his game. It's clearly coaching. It even shows with Cade at times with some of his overthinking, although Cade is a very special player but yeah overall we must must must relieve Casey of his coaching duties and get a young energetic coach that understands the current NBA style before next season or Casey is gonna ruin Wemby, or whoever we draft and have everybody wondering why Detroit is the only team that can't develop talent. Case in point Dan Campbell and the way he developed and played nearly 5 rookies in the Lions rotation this year and 5 of them outplayed their expectations because Campbell is a dawg ass coach with swag and aggressiveness and understands the youth movement.

  15. One of the most pathetic displays of Detroit basketball I've ever seen. Made me wanna not watch the rest of the season smdh.

  16. The BIG problem here is that Cade hasn’t live up to be #1 pick. No one wants to talk about that. There’s no clear evidence that Cade will be better then JALEN Green and a couple other guys from his draft class. Cade has to hit or this year’s draft pick to become a championship team within the next 5yrs.

  17. This season has featured Ivey showing he was a good pick, Duren showing he was an extraordinary pick, Stew showing he might be a good power forward, Killian showing he is a rotation PG, Bagley showing he is an injury prone finesse back-up big, Saddiq showing he a streaky backup tweener PF/SF, and overall that this franchise is still a year away from being a year away. I've stopped watching.

  18. Can't say that I'm shocked by this loss but I also can't help but feel disturbed. Disturbed by the overall effort and construction of this team. Nobody thought I'd be perfect but competitive cannot be a word used to describe this team this year. What's glaring is the incompatibility of the prototypes on this team. Combine that with undefined player roles from top to bottom and you get a s**t show like the one last night. Are Knox, Bey, Livers, and Bogey not all the same prototype? Maybe throw Cade in that bunch as well. All essentially 3's that can hardly guard a chair at the 4. When I watch McGruder, Joseph, and Burks – I see little to no difference between them… all get easily blown by and attempt their microwave offense on the other end. And I get that all teams have an end to their bench but can we at least have serviceable players? Noel looked basically unplayable and on his way out of the league last night – how would any team benefit from having him in a rotation? Just a completely disrespectfull performance and effort from a hodge-podge of prototypes… smh
