With Myles Turner back on the trade market & many teams needing a legitimate starting center to stay competitive, would a three team deal like this make sense where Poeltl heads to Indiana.

The only team that says yes in this is the pels. It makes 0 sense for San Antonio and indiana

You’re gonna get a lot of Spurs fans saying Jakob Poeltl is worth nothing less than two unprotected first round picks, which is an unrealistic reading of the trade market and the value of Poeltl’s Bird rights. With that said, I do think a realistic trade is one where the Spurs get a lightly protected first round pick and some young players, as seen here. Goga Bitadze’s character issues make him an unlikely Spur, and Lewis’s injury history is a concern, but on a theoretical level, this is probably okay.
I also don’t think Indiana says yes to this.

Close, but no cigar. Lewis and Bitadze aren’t the right players to entice the Spurs to go down from their 2 FRP asking price.

Why do y’all want Poeltl traded so badly? I hope he’s a Spurs player for a long time

I think Langford is a better fit and prospect than anyone coming in on this deal. This is essentially a FRP from a good team for Jakob which is rather underwhelming before even considering what it means for the other teams involved. Pass.

This trade sucks for the Spurs.

Poeltl is hard because he falls in 1 of 2 pretty extreme situations:
1. The Spurs expect he will re-sign in the summer if they offer him a fair contract. If so, he’s very unlikely to be traded outside of a crazy offer by a buying team (which this is not).
2. The Spurs are not sure if he will re-sign, so he should be sold for the best offer they can get.
If we are in the 2nd situation, then this is a good trade and I’d be happy with it. If we’re in the 1st though, this trade will never happen.
