  1. Two recent articles with quotes from players by Milholden: [What Changes Now with Simmons](https://www.si.com/nba/nets/news/what-changes-now-with-ben-simmons), and [Nets Practice Report: The Mood And The Plan Without Kevin Durant](https://www.si.com/nba/nets/news/nets-practice-report-the-mood-and-the-plan-without-kevin-durant).

JV on the idea of “playing with force,”

“You take, for example, the beginning of the New Orleans game. So he had three things at the beginning of that game. First of all, he picked CJ McCollum up full court. Alright? So that’s the defensive force. Then you go to the offensive force. He gets the ball swung back to him. He drives [on Jonas] Valanciunas right hand. That’s playing with force. He gets downhill, [pushes] the pace, at [Trey] Murphy for a finish. That’s playing with force. He gets a crossover, post up dribble, he draws two defenders to him. He sprays it out to Royce [O’Neale] for a corner trey ball. That’s playing with force.”

Excited to see how our guys handle this stretch without KD.

Hope that we can see a more aggressive Ben, there are naysayers who say Ben isn’t willing to be aggressive, but during the road trip when we were missing KAI, he was aggressive in scoring. Furthermore, I hope he stays agressive not just for this stretch but for the rest of the season, a more aggressive Ben will open a lot for this team helping us ascend to another level when fully healthy.

I like how Ben organizes the offense, pushes the ball, and does the little things. All of these traits are good, it’s a sign of a smart basketball player

    *Stephen A voice* BUT

He’s playing the game offensively like a late stage Deron Williams/Kyle Lowry. It’s too passive, especially for a 26 year old who has enough athleticism to be better. Even if he turns up his aggression, he has to sustain it over the rest of the season and playoffs (which historically is a high hope)

I do enjoy watching him play, but the Ben Simmons experience will always be plagued with frustration knowing that he could/should be way better at this point of his career. I hope he turns up over these next few weeks
