Jokic has glaring weaknesses on defense, but despite them, he is one of the best defenders in the league.
Jokic is one of the league leaders in steals, which are much better than blocks. He's a league leader in deflections, which are effectively the same as a block. He isn't even bad at blocking. He just doesn't leave his feet and stays in a good position for a defensive rebound. His IQ allows him to know where to stand to be in passing lanes, preventing points without adding any stats.
He's #6 all time for Career Defensive BPM. Every other player on the top of that list is an absolute ELITE defender. With all that in mind, I don't care how many people say he's just an average defender.
Jokic is a very solid to great defender. My eye test is backed up by the objective data.

Seeing the press polls earlier it looks like he's heading for his 3rd straight MVP, especially if he keeps dishing out 16 assists like last game. I just hope that the higher assists translates to him getting to rest a little and getting more chemistry for the playoffs.
