Jaden Ivey Plays Most Complete Game Of Season In Detroit Pistons Win Over Minnesota Timberwolves

After getting destroyed by the Philadelphia 76ers the night before, the Detroit Pistons responded by snapping the Minnesota Timberwolves’ 4-game winning streak at Little Caesars Arena. The Pistons had many good performances, but Jaden Ivey stood out the most in what was possibly the most complete game of his rookie season.

  1. Good way to redeem themselves. Diallo fouls out but not b4 18pt 7 of 8 shooting 5 rebound . Only if Bey could find it in him to play similar to this every night.

  2. Ku the Bojan hater at his best, not mentioning him again. All good Bogie, we see ya. Ajmooo Babo beretta. No Bogie, no party! Boyfriend Hayes really should stop taking so many 3s (hes less than 30% career )

  3. My biggest concern with Ivey and his development via the coaching staff is teaching him how to use his speed to his advantage rather then his detriment. I think it’s a duel effort between the coaching staff and Ivey, Ivey realizing he can slow it down and reset to make the correct play and the coaching staff realizing there is a ton of offensive opportunity if they can get guys to push the pace and fill lanes while they have numbers. Pistons are on they right track when they have a healthy balance between 3s, transition baskets and getting to the free throw line.

I’m still concerned with Ivey’s defense. He tends to jump, lunge and reach for steals and blocks when he doesn’t have to, he also closes out horribly there was a play when Naz Reed caught the ball in the right corner on the 3pt line, Ivey runs out to him and Reed pump fakes and goes around for the east layup. I think the coaching staff needs to figure out what there defensive focus is going to be. I’d rather they close out properly and force teams to take long 2s and 3s then allow easy layups and dunks at the rim. Guys will miss rotations but they have to stay sound defensively by not lunging and jumping at every play trying to make up for a mistake that’s how they get in foul trouble and give up easy baskets.

Overall this was a great bounce back game, I think last game was a big adjustment guys weren’t ready to play without their starting front court, now they’ve adjusted to the rotations and found a rhythm they can build upon.
