    For people saying “pace”
Donovan Mitchell and Kobe Bryant teams played at the same pace. One was just 30th and one was 6th. Knowing Kobe he probably took more shots too. I’m not saying Mitchell was better but he is having an all time year.

I’m a huge jazz fan, and it really looks like Don is taking his game to the next level. I’m very happy for him, and for you guys. It was really sad to see him go. After his first year, I’ve always thought he could be an mvp type player, because he knows what to work on, and has the heart to do it. I’m glad he seems to be happier in Cleveland than his last couple years in Utah, where certain idiots shat on his social justice efforts, and many in the fan base called into question his closing instincts. If he can let the game come to him a little more in the closing minutes or tight games, rather than forcing it, I believe he’s likely to get finals mvp honors.

Also, sorry for our salty fans who are being little shits after a great game the other night. It’s understandable why you’d be frustrated. Hopefully LaVert learns to keep his hands out the cookie jar. Go cavs! And I would be remiss if I didn’t also say… Fuck the rockets.

  3. People love to overrate Kobe now that he’s dead. People try to act like he’s a top 5 player ever, when he MIGHT have been the best player in the league for like 2 years (from like 04-06).

Offensively, I can see the comparison but as a complete player? It’s not close, at least not yet. Kobe was also defensive 1st team that year, and led his team to the best record in the Western Conference with no other Allstars. This reminds me of the Harden/MJ comparison from his Houston days. Harden put up offensive seasons that were similar to a few of MJs but MJ was still on another level no matter what due to his all around team game.

Kobe didn’t have Luka averaging 34/game with nearly a Triple Double average.

Players this year are STUFFING the stat sheets, it’s insane. And very entertaining!

The reality is, Don was barely on the media’s MVP radar before his 71 point game. It would probably take an extensive Cavs win streak and a few 50+ point game for him just to get to Top 5 in the MVP race. Not sure what it would take for him to overtake Jokic.

He’s not going to be MVP. But he’s got a shot at 50/40/90, and that would be awesome.

  8. AllieOopClifton

Kobe didn’t really deserve MVP that year. CP3 and KG had significantly better cases.

Donovan is great but Jokic is head and shoulders above everyone else. It’s him or Giannis for mvp I don’t think anyone else is close

This is comparing apples to oranges
