Why would we care about staying in the top 4? This years FA on the Dline is STACKED! Bears have twice the money of other teams to spend and nobody on the roster who they have to sign and very likely could have multiple players from other teams that are very good. I would take a Daron Payne and a Sweat in FA to anchor the defense. Then swap back to middle of the draft and either get a WR1 or a middle first round graded player on the Dline that drops to say 7-15 where I would be dropping back to. Then I would be able to get multiple first round picks from others maybe even getting a trade back to 2nd and trade back again to 10+ for 2 more 1sts and other picks later on. Get Smith-Njiba later on and then have 2 first rounders next year and some more 3rd/4th/5th this year or next to build the team up. San Fran traded 3 firsts for the 3rd pick last year to get Trey Lance. There are like 10 teams that need a QB next year and 3 QB that look like they below in the top 5 picks.
The Bears must protect fields. That can be done in free agency or the draft, but they can not allow Fields to keep getting hit.
I REALLY want Wil Anderson, but I feel like we might end up with Carter which is fine, but Anderson in my opinion is a different breed.
Bears trade w Houston for their 1st, 2023 3rd, 2024 1st. Then trade 2nd overall to Raiders for 9th, 2023 2nd, and Davante Adams. Use picks to build Oline and stop getting Fields killed.
Finally someone who understands the values of these picks.
Try to get Houston to move up perhaps for the early 2nd , then move again to Colts for another early 2nd. Reasonable asks imo
I am predicting this is What the Chicago Bears do with the #1 Draft Pick!
They will Trade Down Multiple Times:
1- Trade Down to #4 Indy- Get Someone and Multiple Picks
2- trade The #4 to #9 Carolina – For Someone and Multiple Picks
Then Draft at #9 – Myles Murphy
Trade down and get 1st 2023, '24 and '25. Teams from 2nd to 9th are desperate for franchise Qb. Let them war bid to get 1st pick.
Draft expert seems to forget about 5’9 former number 1 pick kyler Murray
Bucker and three 1st is not realistic right! But the 4th, 35th, 79th and 2024 1st is quite possible!
Trade with Texas. For the number to pick. Get early second-rounder. And a fourth-rounder. Pick wil Anderson at 2. That's pretty much what you gave up Mitch. Now if somebody over something that you can't refuse with number 2 then okay
Bingo! Nobody in this draft is better than Fields on paper, and Poles is not taking a QB. Not to say that Young or Stroud won’t have a better career than Fields, but right now when evaluating talent, there’s nothing those two can do that Fields can’t.
He’s spot on. Bears can’t go past #4. Anything else is stupid
Trade for the #4 and additional 1st round in 2024 and other picks, and then try and trade down again to squeeze out another 1st round pick in 2024 and some additional picks.
Only way Indy is getting that pick is swap pick Deforest Buckner & 24 1st 🤷🏽♂️ … we need him to further develop Carter while still wreaking havoc 😁
The teams below them are desperate as desperate can be. They can trade down twice within the first 5 picks and get a real haul!
Same, I agree with 4th pick, anything past that then I'd be pissed.
Pressure is on Colts from the owner. Also remember, they are fighting the Texans for that #1 QB. Their division rivals!!!
Why is everyone assuming cards will take anderson? They need a run stopper in the middle. Carter is the closest to aaron donald we have seen in years!
Javon Hargrave and Orlando Brown are free agents. Getting both would fill huge needs for Bears.
I've been saying all of this lol but look at the jags, Trev was TERRIBLE last season, they got the #1 pick and had a lot of cap space now they're in the playoffs! It's all about execution in building that defense up adding 1 more ELITE WR and fixing the line for once in the last like 15 years! 🥴 and I'd LOVE to go after Saquan but if we stick with Monty I won't be mad at all.
Trevor Lawrence working out so well for the Jags
Pace screwed us so historically bad.
Trade with Indy. Get their 1st and 2nd round this year and next year then draft whoever the Cardinals don't take even if it is Carter. I don't care if we do sigh Payne, if carter is there at 4 we take him and pair them up together, Those 2 on the interior will help whoever our edges are TREMENDOUSLY.
HOuston might give 2 and a a second then bears trad 2 to Indy for a few
