Sabonis does have better efficieny but its less volume as well. I will admit is passing is excellent. But if you suck at defense as a center thats a problem lol, and bam wipes the floor on him there

This debate has been going on for years now. Sabonis is a very good player, but doesn’t have the defensive ability Bam does and has never been a main component of a team that made a deep playoff run. Good player but nowhere near the level Bam is right now. Be willing to bet 29/30 teams would choose Bam over Sabonis of the question was posed.

I would say they are on the same level. Sabonis can orchestrate an entire offense and Bam can anchor an entire defense.
I pick Bam over Sabonis because i value defense over offense but i don’t think they are far of each other.

From 3-point range:
Sabonis – 41.3%, 46 3PA this year
Bam – 10%, 10 3PA this year
But as a player, Bam is better.

Sabonis is a much better defender than people give him credit. The numbers this year and eye test show it. He’s always communicating and always puts in effort. He’s obviously not Bam who is a DPOY candidate every year but he’s not as bad as this sub thinks he is at defense. For people to say he outright sucks is not true imo.
He is a better passer than Bam and generally shoots at a better clip and has more versatility offensively. He backs down dudes in the post all the time.
They both do a lot for both their teams. Sabonis is pretty much involved in every possession. They are both elite screen setters.
Bam is better but y’all don’t need to disrespect Sabonis. He’s having an awesome year and is the reason the Kings have a better record than us.
