Knicks have assets to make this deal if they wanted to. They were willing to part with RJ and picks for Mitchell. OG def not on that level, but a deal that includes GTJ might be enticing enough for them to move RJ and some picks.

I feel like OG is a dark horse trade candidate, I just get the sense that if the offer was good enough Masai wouldn’t say no especially considering how he’s due for a massive pay raise in a year. On the flip side though he’s someone you’d want if you actually intend to compete in the playoffs. I think it just comes down to how willing the FO is to spend on a team that is fairly middling at the moment.

I’m not supposed to say this as a Canadian, I guess, but I wouldn’t want RJ Barret on the team. He’s not a very good player, and he will make a lot of money starting next season. Not to say he won’t get better, but you’re basically banking on him improving drastically.

Again, like every OG rumor, it needs to blow away the Raps FO to get it done. I think you’re looking at IQ and Grimes along with a couple late FRPs and Fournier for salary matching. It’s an overpay, but that’s what it’ll take to get OG.
Wouldn’t be bad for us either. IQ and Grimes would give us a great backcourt to develop off the bench and allow us to slide Precious into the starting lineup so we have a center. Fournier wouldn’t be terrible as a vet depth guy and we’d have a couple picks to make a big splash for a center or another star.
