McDaniels is a 24 year old, 6’9 SF for the Hornets who is averaging 11/5/2. He’s a solid and very versatile defender who can guard 2-4 and some smaller 5s. He’s a career 35.1% 3pt shooter which is decent.
The Hornets are [taking calls on him](https://bleacherreport.com/articles/10061171-nba-rumors-suns-interested-in-trade-for-hornets-jalen-mcdaniels-ahead-of-deadline) and the Suns are reported to be interested in him.
He sounds like the ideal fit for us off the bench. Hauser is NOT the answer at the backup 3 come playoffs, so an upgrade there is needed anyway. He has the size, defense, and versatility that we need so badly off the bench.
He’s an unrestricted FA this summer, so I assume his price will not be that high.

Love the idea. They really need to find an upgrade over Hauser before it bites them in the ass.
As a hornets fan what would you give up that we’d want?
I feel like the most we could responsibly offer for him is Jackson and the POR+HOU 2nds. We already have to pay Grant as a RFA and could easily lose McDaniels even with his Bird Rights.
I’m not sure that’s a trade Charlotte would be interested in unless they were planning on doing a wholesale rebuild race to the bottom for Wemby, which they very well could choose to do.
I really think a lot of you would have more fun playing 2k with trade override turned on than actually following the Celtics.
I like PJ Washington more especially if they let Grant walk after finding a bigger deal
The issue is he literally has no playoffs experience. On a championship team it’s gonna be hard to trust him off the bench if JB or JT are out or not feeling it. I’d look to sign Alec Burks. Brogdon, White, Burks, G Williams off the bench would be scary. Trade Gallinari and Kornet and a pick for Burks that would be ideal for both sides.
