The only positive is it locks up cap space for another year so the Wolves can trade Lowry’s expiring for something else down the road.

From a basketball talent standpoint, it is a terrible trade for the Wolves.

Saves the salary slot. People need to realize that’s the only reason this deal happens. It’s saving Miami from the tax next year also.

If we don’t get Strus or a FRP in the D’Lo/Lowry swap it’s a straight fleecing.

Russell is like a decade younger than Lowry.

If our goal is to get a much older player that plays fewer games, lower EPM, with a worse TS% & lower AST% but the same TO% on lower usage and same STL% and BLK% – then we simply have to pull the trigger!

  5. Lowry would be an amazing fit for this wolves roster. He’s underperforming but he always starts seasons slow and his numbers will never look good so he needs to win for fans to see his value. (which is why is value took such a nosedive this season compared to last – shooting variance aside)

He brings a lot of what wolves fans like about Pat Bev but without being a liability on the floor.

If he’s bought in , Lowry could be exactly what this roster needs to take the next step, both on-court and off-court. He would be great for the development of KAT/ANT as well, and his pairing with gobert would be amazing.

He is also ultra communicative on-court – which the wolves seem to lack.

At this point. Id take lowry. Sure he isnt as as young as dlo but lowry plays hard man taking charges amd everything. If we make the playoffs lowry is definitely gonna be a good veteran to help wolves further.
