How The Atlanta Hawks RUINED One Of The NBA's Best Young Cores…

A month into this season the Atlanta Hawks were the three seed in the eastern conference. When they traded for all-star guard Dejounte Murray this summer they expected to be in that sort of position. Giving up four picks is no small move, and it felt like an all-in move that you only get to make once. They paired two all-stars together in the backcourt and had good surrounding pieces to go beside it. Fast forward to today, now almost three months into the season, and the Atlanta Hawks have slipped all the way to the 9th seed in the Eastern conference after losing 5 of their last seven games. They currently sit at 19-22 and by practically all accounts have been a disappointment. But with rumors swirling of Trae Young being the next potential star to request a trade, and the team still shopping John Collins even after dramatically decreasing his role, this team is teetering on the edge of disaster.

Think about subbing, I’m on the road to 4k!!!

  1. Thank you…. Somebody said something! I feel like Cam Reddish could’ve been PG 2.0 with the hawks if they gave it time . Appreciate you bro keep up the great work

  2. I'm glad you can see that the Hawks have a great young core. They need to be developed. Trading Kevin Huerter wasn't necessarily a bad decision because they have A.J. Griffin, who I believe has a much higher ceiling than Kevin. But the Hawks have to find a way to bring that out of him. More importantly, they need to get Trae more open shots to help maximize his offensive potential. There is no way he should be shooting that bad. Thanks for the video.

  3. This video is little off.

    1. Trae isn't getting traded. He controls this team. Has more pull than the Execs. Anyone else will go before he does. Those rumors are silly.

    2. The Huerter trade was primarily for a first that was used to supplement the DJ trade. I love Kevin, but he was not great on the hawks at all, and I will take DJ over him any day. You weren't getting both on the same team.

    3. DJ's stats don't reflect what he's brought to this team. He is the sole reason our defense went from being 29th to middle of the pack. Great wing defense and pressure. That can't be understated because that is what our team has been missing the last couple of years.

    4. We minimized JC's role because he is horrible. He is shooting less than 20% from 3 at the time of this comment. He is not getting to the basket. He's a liability defensively. I mean the guy is just broken. Dude has honestly single handedly cost us like 4 games from literally just dropping the ball in a clutch moment. I've seen him miss more open dunks this year than I ever have before.

    5. Not mentioning Nate throughout all of this is crazy. He is THE PROBLEM with the team. I mean, when you don't call a timeout with 7 seconds left to advance the ball or even draw up a play on a possession that wins the game just because you "wanted them to go," you HAVE to go. Nate is incompetent. He spent all offseason working on 2's and getting to the basket and it has completely decimated what made our team actually good, which was the threat of 3 point shooting. That is what made the pick and roll so effective for our team. We can't reliably get to the basket if there's no threat on the wing because then we can't punish collapsing or switching. Defenses play one way against us and it's over, we have no way of making an adjustment.

Trae choosing to work with Steph this past offseason has clearly messed with his mechanics too.

  4. Hawks can be fixed with a few trades they need a traditional sg murray is a point guard id try to trade off Murray bring in a real shooting guard1.klay thomp 2.demar 3.shai gil also get a good 4.cj mccullough a power forward that can score all 3 phases an play d 1.pascal siakiam 2.kristaps porzingus 3.bam adebouyo 4.julius randle trade off collins an okwunywu to get a 2 way power forward. Add a extra scorer off bench 1.jordan clarkston 2.terrance ross 3.norman powell .An last get rid of capela hes good but he stay hurt to much jacob poetrl from san antonio an add a back up 7 footer like nerlens Noel or javella mcgee an They will be good

  5. Lol ruined one of the best young cores when all they have is young pieces this is what they won’t say Icetrae shoots too much needs to be more of a TEAM player Jordan didn’t win it by himself either

  6. NATE IS THE PROBLEM. He ran Cam and Cooper. Nate got rid of Heruter because he wanted more defense. DJ Murray. Nate ran off Skylar Mays also. Fire the coach before you move anymore players. THE HAWKS HAS GOOD PLAYERS AND CAN PLAY WELL WITH A COACH WITH A BETTER ROTATION IN HIS GAME. LEAVE TRAE ALONE.
