I said it at the previous game. Ben Simmons did what he does at an elite level vs Celtics. He is not a shooter but an elite wing defender and playmaker. He was +10 with the rest of the Nets negative. Kyrie is an elite scorer. Did he do his job at an elite level against the Celtics and now against OKC?

It's simple. They lost on defense. Uta, Harris, and curry specifically cannot stay in front of their men. They struggle to hold to rebounds. Nets fan want kyrie to bail out a group of guys who cannot play defense and who are glorified scrubs. Joe Harris, uta, and curry on defense. These guys shoot wide open ( I'll give curry a littoe credit for creating a shot ) but those other two are useless without kyrie or KD affording then wide open shots.
Aside from Royce and claxton – Kyrie is playing 3 on 5 most nights. And Ben Simmons is just collecting stats and skipping games because hes struggling mentally. Remember Sean marks traded harden( after trading away the future) for a guy they didnt fully vet in Simmons..
Kryie is an elite scorer. He's not about to bail this team out. U punks can cry all u want. You want kyrie to ball out…for what? They can't stop anyone on defense and no one seems to get this. They also struggle to score one on one and are ridiculously dependent on Kyrie and KD. How do u think those scrubs score?! Lastly, people always get on kryie assist but how many wide open shots did he afford those guys tonight? If they actually hit the shots – he has 10 assist easy a night.
They gotta make some trades. Get some players that can stay in front of their man. I would go after kuzma and add another wing defender. Get rid of Joe Harris. Seth is worth keeping. Limit utas minutes because he's just good for wide open shooting but horrible when it comes to on ball defense…and defensive IQ is trash.
After Cam Thomas helped short-handed Nets rally past Pacers before, why I seldom see him play? Why VC is benching him considering the team needs his shot making while KD is out?
The Nets should trade for a big man that can do all the work in the paint because they are getting bullied way too often. Suggesting McGee, Myles T, D Howard, Hassan WhiteS, or Vucevic…
